Q: Could I use these for fermentation or storing pickles?

A: While these have a seal they are not air tight. So you may use them for the fermenting process, but, after fermented, and for storing, you would need an air-tight container. These would not work for storing.

Disappointed!!!
Bought this canister set about 1 year ago. I love the way it looks, but it doesn't function well. Despite making sure the pieces were totally dry before filling them, my sugar , brown sugar, and even my baking soda got hard. Right now they're sitting empty on my countertop as I am looking to replace them. I've thrown out my food in them several times. So disappointed!!!

I'm enjoying this canister set. They are very colorful and spruce up my kitchen. Nice to look at. The set is very durable and made well. Hopefully they will last for a long period of time. Came through the mail very well packaged and secure.
