Please note that a new brush head may initially feel harder than your previous one, which has likely been used for 3 months or more. The new brush head should begin to feel softer with repeated use. When brushing, avoid pressing too hard or scrubbing; allow the brush to do the work. We understand that preferences vary from person to person, and we truly appreciate your feedback. Our toothbrushes should be replaced every 3 months, so we assure you what you're describing isn't up to our high standards. If the bristles are splaying, this could be caused by brushing too hard -- too much pressure makes the bristles wear faster. Also rinsing a toothbrush under hot water, or soaking it in a solution, will soften the bristles and cause them to wear out more quickly.
