While the shape and locking mechanism on the trash can are helpful it did not last long. The plastic mechanisms on the lid broke and is constantly popping off. Did not last as long as expected for a simplehuman trash can. Would not buy again

Not great quality and tips
We currently have a simple human stainless steel trashcan that we love. When I saw this one, I like the color so much better than stainless and was excited about the price point. A few things about the can itself it’s very lightweight so when you put pressure on the step to lift the lid the entire trashcan tips forward. There isn’t a Insert that holds the trash like our other simple human. And in general, it’s just poor quality that being said if I was looking for a trashcan and wasn’t accustomed to the quality of simple human, I would be fine with it overall, I would skip this.

Dont get it
Have had this trash can and it’s been a nuisance. Lid constantly pops off and as your repop it back on continuously, damaged the insertion and now I’ve got a useless overpriced trash can.

Cheaply made!
The lid broke off within a couple of days. Not sturdy enough to roll smoothly from bedroom to laundry room just a few feet away. If not completely balanced laundry, it tips badly. Very disappointed! I'm disabled with little arm strength & thought the wheels would be so helpful, but unfortunately that's not the case, at least not for me.

Dont buy
This trashcan only worked well for a few months before the lid started falling off and will not go back on. The whole purpose of buying it was to be able to be hands-free and be able to lock it so my dogs can’t get in it. $40 junk. The last trash can was half the price and had the same components lasted many years and I only replaced due to appearance.

Lid keeps falling off not very stable. You can easily knock it over and due to poor lid design it can spill all the trash out. I thought this would be upgrade from the usual plastic ones from hefty that I usually buy but I was wrong. This is more expensive and worse product. It does fit 13gallon trash bags though with some struggle.

Dog Proof??? Nope
When I thought I had finally found a dog-proof trash can, I was disappointed. While the material is of good quality, it did not live up to its claim of being dog proof. Despite having two dogs weighing 15 and 22 pounds, they were able to easily open the trash can and have their fun while we were away for a few hours. If your goal is to prevent your dogs from getting into the trash, I would advise against purchasing this particular product.

Leaks
If your garbage leaks inside the can, the area by the wheels will allow the liquid to leak all over your floor. Poor design. I liked it until I had a major leak that got awful stuff all over my floor. Now I’ll be replacing it.
