What a strong color but OMG! Don't do it in your bathroom, it will stain surfaces and skin. Use bleach to remove stains from tile and surfaces. Also box came with unusable gloves????? Flat and couldn't open

THIS IS PERMANENT DYE
This should not be marketed as a semi permanent dye. It has been months and I have tried everything to strip the color out.

Our dyes are Semi-permanent, which is identified on the box, with that said the fade out time period /process varies from person to person based on hair texture, density and porosity. Industry standard wise Semi-permanents last 4-6 weeks and also varies depending on how often the hair is washed. The more the hair is washed the faster/more will fade, using a clarifying shampoo can also help. You can still have color left in the hair after the 30 washes or 4-6 weeks due to the high pigment load, depending on how long the color was processed and integrity / porosity of the hair. Unsatisfied!!
I used the midnight jade today! Now the tub and my skin came out like an aqua blue color, but my hair came out black!! I didnt have an issue with the tanzanite one but this one just didnt come out like the box said, I went into the sunlight just to make sure but the jade didnt come out!

Lasted long
First of all, it smells great. I enjoyed the process. I didn't bleach my hair before using it, I was aiming for a very subtle dark purple that was only really noticeable in the sunlight. This product achieved that for me. It did stain my skin and scalp pretty bad, but I was able to get rid of that fairly easily. I dyed it about a year ago and its faded, but my hair is still purple in the sunlight, which I like even though it was meant to be semi-temporary. I wouldn't recommend using this though if you dye and bleach your hair often. I bleached a strip of my hair and the dye lingered. Overall, I'll be using this again.

Would buy the product again.
It's my first time dyeing my hair by myself. A month ago, I went to the hair salon to dye my hair red, but I was disappointed because it wasn't the color I wanted. But thanks to Splat it looks a lot better and the hair color I wanted. I get a lot of compliments, calling me a doll. :) It's not hard to use, but it easily stains skin, such as the ears, forehead, and neck. Beware of that; other than that, I like it.

We're sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with our product. Splat is a semi-permanent color which means it's not oxidative. So going into a swimming pool with chlorine will make the color fade and or wash out. In the future we recommend wearing a swimming cap to protect the hair color.

Midnight Tanzanite
I used the Midnight Tanzanite kit on my natural dark brown hair that has been professionally colored violet red. By no means does home hair color match the quality of salon hair color. Finances are tight right now so I was forced to give up my hair being professionally colored by my talented hair stylist. First, I would recommend applying petroleum jelly to your hair line and buying some hair dye remover wipes. I allowed the color to process in my hair for an hour. Unfortunately, my scalp and my hairline are stained purple which the directions in the kit warn about. The dye actually smells pleasant. My hair turned out a deep dark purple with my grays being a brighter lighter purple. What I really like about the Splat Midnight Kit is there is no pre-bleaching required. I also like that there is no mixing with Splat--one bottle does it all This was my first time using Splat. Surprisingly, my hair feels soft instead of dry. I still prefer having my hair professionally colored by my stylist. I also love that Splat is a cruelty free brand.

Dont waste your money
This brand use to be good. Mixing the dye was horrible, the color no longer comes in a tube, you have to squeeze it out of a pouch & that was messy. My hair was a dark burgundy before I dyed it & for some reason my roots came out blood red & the bottom of my hair came out darker then plum, more like blackish/Brown. I’ve been dyeing my own hair for 25yrs & never had this issue.

Red scalp
Pros: easy application, great color Cons: this product is messy and stains everything I wanted to freshen up my hair color before going out. Bad idea. It stained my towels, hands, shower, and scalp red. It does give warning on the box. It makes sense that it stains clothes. What didn't make sense is the instructions said not to get it on your skin or scalp. How is that even possible? It's like asking someone to swim in the pool but don't get your feet wet. I didn't apply it as close to the roots as I usually do but when rinsing it out, it got everywhere! I rinsed my hair for over 45 minutes and the color never stopped flowing. I've been going out in public with a red scalp. I have since washed it 3 times and the water still not clear. Today I decided to take a bath in hopes of the color washing off my scalp. It did help but I had to vigorously scrub my scalp.

Double lift is applied to half an inch to an inch away from the scalp first then applied to the root area to prevent hot bright roots.

This is amazing
So I have always dyed my hair black since I was a teen I am currently 25 and dyed my hair black about a month ago, I used to try burgundy right after black but it would never show up it’d stay black and only the roots would be burgundy, this product speaks for its, double lift literally, first time I’ve tried a maroon hair dye after dying my hair black and it actually lightened my whole head to this beautiful purple red. This is by far one of the best hair dyes that does the job even after you dye your hair black. If you had opposite results you probably started at the roots. Always start at the bottom and work your way up. This is amazing!!!
