Q: Purchased this for my mother and instead of shutting off after 2 hours as stated in the instructions, it shuts off after 30 minutes. Is this a different option, or is her unit not working correctly.

No worries, we are here to help. If your heating pad shuts off before the 2 hour auto shut off, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the cord from the pad and from the outlet. Let the unit rest for 3-5 minutes. Afterwards, plug it into a different wall outlet. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips and power converters or inverters as it may affect the heating pad's performance. Your heating pad has a 5-year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly in order to help you get to the best resolution. Disappointed in this product. I have not had any issues with other Sunbeam purchases, however, this heating pad stopped working. It states that it has a 5 year warranty, but that warranty is not valid. Buyer beware.

Bad heating pad

I have had this heating pad for about one year. It works good, when it works!! Sometimes when you plug it in, it will sit there and blink and not come on. Change the plug to another plug in and it does the same stupid thing. I saw online that it is a common issue. I just threw it out and purchased another make.

It barely gets warm even on high and it has about a 3-4 inch wide heating strip on the back. Does not hear shoulders or neck, just upper mid back, and barely. It’s trash.

I bought one of these in 2019. It was amazing. It just died and I bought a new one. The new one even though it is the same name is much smaller and does not work as well. The new ones are a waste of money. Regret this purchase.

Very small and limited heat range

If your problem area is limited to the back of your neck, or your collar bone area, this may be great for you. It does not heat the sides of the neck or the full shoulders. The areas with heat cover about 3 inches wide at the very back of the neck only and about 3 inches of the shoulder. Two inches of the edges on each side of the shoulder pieces are not heated - there’s a weighted rolled edge and no heating element until an inch after that. Unfortunately for me, my trouble area includes the sides of my neck to the shoulder joint and this pad is not nearly enough coverage. It otherwise seems to be of quality construction.

I have really bad neck and shoulder pain from holding kids on my hip all the time. my husband got me this for Christmas and I was so excited. I used it almost every night before bed but it stopped working in less then a month! Now when I plug it in the red light blinks and there's no heat what so ever. It was nice while it lasted.

Control Blinking, No Heat or No power may be an indicator that the product is not receiving enough power from the source. To fix this problem, please follow these troubleshooting steps in order: 1. Unplug the heating pad from the wall outlet for at least 30 seconds 2. Verify there is no physical damage to the cord, controller, or heating pad 3. Verify the connection between the heating pad and the controller is tight 4. Verify that the power cord is plugged directly into a wall outlet. Be sure that this heated product is used only on an AC supply circuit of the proper voltage. Do not use with an extension cord. Do not use with generators, power converters or inverters. 5. Try a different appliance (such as a small lamp) in the outlet to ensure the outlet is functional 6. Try plugging the heating pad into a different outlet to see if it works in a different outlet Your heating pad has a 5-year warranty, If the above resolution will not work please contact us directly to provide the best resolution. Does not get hot, barely warm at best and the heat is only in the main part and in the middle of that. The whole pad should heat up. No heat in the 3 extension parts. Not worth the money.
