A: No it is not recommended to lie on the mat. Instead position yourself so that while you are laying down, you can put the area needing attention. There is a risk of heat damage to the skin if you lie on it. Be safe and well.

A: Hi Jean, This heating pad has an Auto-Off feature. The indicator on the selected temperature will start to slowly blink to indicate the Auto-Off feature is activated. This feature is designed to conserve
energy by automatically turning off after 2 hours of continuous use. Hold the power button to
turn the heating pad back on; it will automatically revert to the previous setting.
It breaks after a couple years of infrequent use. I have a navy up and up heating pad i bought maybe 3-4 years ago. it turns off and the red light starts blinking. it only works sometimes. keep in mind my parents have a heating pad from 10 years ago that still works and gets hotter than this target brand.

I used this every night for about a year to help with back/shoulder pain and cramps and it was great. However, in december I got very sick and was hospitalized for about a month, and I relied on this heating pad to help with the severe pain I was in. It couldn't handle the amount of use and ended up not turning on anymore after only about a year and a half of use.

Malfunctions
worked the 1st day fine. 2nd day all the lights blink and it turns off. I have to unplug it and war. it back up. After 10mins it turns off again. I will be returning.

I made this purchase in a hurry due to my old heating pad quitting on me. I’ll admit to not reading all of the reviews like I usually do. I have had this for two weeks and have not tried to wash it as it says it can be. It is a nice size and works ok on medium heat. Low isn’t enough and high is too much. 2 hour shut off does not work. This one could just be a lemon. Luckily I got this one on sale. I would not suggest paying full price for it, go with name brand.

This product lasted approximately a year and then failed. It never functioned fully as advertised. I’m very frustrated with this product and Target’s return policy. Heating pads used to last for years!!!

I didn’t want the bad reviews to be true, but alas. On the highest setting, it only briefly got hot, but it was short lived. Now it gets lukewarm at best. Real bummer because the mat itself is very soft and nice!

This heating pad has been so good for me, it works great, it has a good quality and even I have been using it frequently, it keeps working without a problem. I like that it has a good size, it is the biggest I have had. It has 3 different temperature settings (low, med and high) which makes the usage experience more comfortable. Highly recommended.
