Three units in a row defective put of the box
There appears to be a serious defect with this product out of the box. We have now had three units sent direct from Kitchenaid Australia and all three immediately leak from the valve between the water tank and the base of the machine. And when I say leak I mean they flood the kitchen counter top within a few minutes. You can google this known issue for further proof. It is frankly outrageous that Kitchenaid continue to sell a defective product. The only thing to their credit is that they let you return the machine. After three machines in a row that have needed to be immediately returned we cannot believe that they continue to sell the product whilst knowing of this fault.

Great coffee & easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first purchase of a coffee machine after using plunger coffee for many years. I love how easy it is to make a great coffee with freshly ground beans. I’ve enjoyed using my semiautomatic machine so much that I bought one for my daughter.

(no review title)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm no espresso expert and this is the first espresso machine I've owned, but I'm glad I bought it. Espresso is so much better than drip coffee. The grind size and quantity seem to be very consistent. I wish it came with more accessories for preparing the portafilter, though, as it can be difficult to get the grounds flat and even, leading to more espresso coming out one side of the portafilter.

Love the product, easy to use!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel there might be something wrong with my unit. The tray underneath needs to be emptied every 2-3 days. Is this normal? It feels like a slow leak to me

Consistent Quality!
I am really enjoying this machine! It is easy to dial in, and it consistently makes quality espresso. The grinder is quiet and does not make any mess (the anti-static feature works well). For comparison, I use a Baratza Encore grinder for drip coffee; I like that grinder, but it sounds like a freight train compared to the integrated burr grinder in the espresso machine. This espresso machine heats up quickly and switches between espresso, steam, and hot water functions quickly. I was initially hesitant to purchase this machine only because my friends predominantly use Breville espresso machines. However, I am glad I went with this one. This machine appears to meet the same quality standards as my other KitchenAid products: we recently purchased a stand mixer and also have a 30+ year old KitchenAid refrigerator that came with our house. I am absolutely sold on KitchenAid products — they are built like tanks and perform exactly as promised!

Great machine but needs the right espresso beans!
This is a really great in-home espresso machine but the type of espresso beans you use definitely matter. Do NOT use dark roast/oily beans. Your machine won’t work right. As soon as we switched to medium roast espresso beans, we were in the espresso range and the shots pulled beautifully!

Broke after 4 months no repairers outside of Sydne
Bought this machine, lasted for 4 months before it would intermittently not heat. Lodged a warranty claim, they expected me to freight it to Sydney for repairs, with a disclaimer that if it’s not packaged “properly” they wouldn’t be held responsible…and I quote “ I hope The Good Guys are able to provide you with a suitable resolution.”

We’re really sorry to hear you’ve had such a disappointing experience, that’s never what we want for our customers. I’ve had a look into this for you, and I can see that our Customer Service team organised pre‑paid StarTrack return labels so we could have your unit collected from your home, assessed, and repaired under warranty. However, the work order wasn’t able to progress any further as the unit has not been sent in. If you still need assistance or would like to continue with a warranty assessment, you’re very welcome to reach out and we’ll be more than happy to help get things back on track.

Beginner friendly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is great for those who are new at brewing espresso and wanting to experiment with different brewing options. The machine is beautiful and durable, it’s easy to product the perfect amount of espresso, you don’t have to wait long for your beverage to brew and it’s easy clean and purge.

Still waiting for replacement machine.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately the machine has a problem, water leaks from the base of the water tank. I've spoken to KitchenAid and they said it will be replaced, still waiting to hear back on when the new machine will be despatched. Apparently there should have been an O ring on the pipe section that inserts into the base of the machine.

Horrible grinder
Brand new - been trying to use the machine for a couple of weeks and the burr grinder won’t get fine enough to pull the shot correctly. I had very high hopes for this machine:(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this on the 12th March 2026, it has still not arrives. No response to 4 emails sent. Very unhappy, wish I had not paid for it.

We’re really sorry for the delay, this was caused by an AusPost truck fire on the 16th of March, which unfortunately affected a number of deliveries. ☹️ I’ve checked your case and can see our Customer Service team has been in contact and is working toward getting this resolved for you. If you need anything further in the meantime, please feel free to reach out. ❤️

Do not buy if you want out-of-the-box quality
After following all the unboxing instructions, I was immediately disappointed when I put the first tank of water onto the main unit - rapidly formed leaks from where the tube from the tank interfaces with the main unit. I could not leave the tank attached for more that two minutes before my countertop became wet. Some research on the Internet (and many of the reviews here on kitchenaid.com) indicate that I am not the only one to experience this. I'm happy for the folks who got a five-star unit out-of-the-box, but for the money, and for the KitchenAid brand, all units should be defect-free. I believe the gasket on the main unit "tube" receptacle is of the wrong size(?) for the tube from the tank, and that allows water to leak. I fixed it by stacking two 19mm OD, 13mm ID, 3mm width silicone o-rings onto the tube (see photo - maybe, I'm not sure I can add a photo) (o-ring sizes supplied if someone else needs to do this as well). After doing this, the unit has not leaked for 24 hours. But it should not have leaked at all. After my fix, the espresso machine makes good espresso. It works well, is rather quite, cleans up nicely, and looks very good. I have not used the steam wand. NOW I have the KitchenAid Espresso Machine that I thought I purchased.

Disappointed
This is my 3rd machine, the others were replaced due to mechanical breakdown issues. This one does not make a good espresso. My other brands and older machines worked much better.

Failed after a year
Worked great and made amazing coffee for just over a year. Now the power button blinks nonstop. I have had to stop using the grinder, it shoots coffee grinds everywhere. The drip tray is always full of fresh water, not sure where it is coming from. The pressure is low and the coffee is not great
