If you don’t have any gray to cover, you can use the Nutrisse Ultra Color LB1, "Ultra Light Cool Blonde,". A: Hi there CMC. Not all hair dyes are made for covering gray. The Nutrisse Ultra Colors are specifically for use on natural dark hair and won’t cover gray. Select a color from the Nutrisse Crème Colors. Since dyed hair is much harder to lighten than natural hair. No hair dye is strong enough to lighten artificial pigment. To go lighter first you would have to have a salon professional strip out the dark dye first with a bleach lightener made for removing dark hair dye.
