  • A: It says it may be used multiple times on the front of the box. The directions say to rinse the brush applicator before storing. Leave it on for 50-60 minutes if you’re covering grays. I have dark brown hair, but bought the black shade bc the dark brown color was out of stock at my store. The first time I used it, I followed the directions and saw zero difference in my hair. It did absolutely nothing. After reading some reviews, I decided to try again and left it on for an hour. It worked great!! I have highlights and the precise applicator lets you apply it strictly to the roots so you don’t have to color over the rest of your hair. And it’s semi permanent so it fades naturally and I don’t get fussed at by my hair stylist when I go to get my hair dyed/highlighted at the salon every few months.

    Maybe I have been using this incorrectly, but I use it like regular root touchup spray. In other words, I don’t wash it out. It looks natural and you can’t see my gray hair at all after it is applied. I love it - it’s way more natural looking than root spray.

    BEST root cover ever! Apply to wet hair, leave on 30+ minutes

    I think most negative reviews are because it needs to be left on hair longer than the directions suggest, and/or people don't apply it to clean wet hair. Fantastic coverage, doesn't fade enough to notice the difference until four shampoos or more. short grey hairs growing out at the hairline lose color first unless you cover them when washing your face every day. I wash my hair every 4 - 6 days (one perk of post-menopause lol) so the color hangs in there for almost a month. It covers very well but needs to be left on for 30 - 40 minutes before rinsing out. Also, it should always be applied to wet, clean hair as the instructions specify. And it's non-damaging!

    Great for early or fine gray hairs

    Great results

    I've used this for over a year and have great results. I brush it on and leave for about 15 minutes. I don't have a lot of grays so this is perfect for me. It usually lasts a couple weeks to a month before the grays show again.

    Doesn't work

    Not worth the time nor money.

    Zero gray coverage. I tried this twice. First time I followed the directions and left on for the allotted time. No cuverage of grays. The second time, I left it on for 45-60 minutes. Still no coverage of gray.

    Very disappointing results- did not cover gray at all

    Very disappointing results. I have black hair and it did not cover the little bit of gray around my face and hair line at all. I left it on for thirty minutes which was plenty of time. Do not recommend.

    Zero coverage

    I would give this 0 stars if possible- left this on for 20 minutes- rinsed and conditioned as recommended only to towel dry my hair and have the towel turn brown- zero color on hair and a huge mess all over the towel- what a waste of time and money!

    This does absolutely nothing to cover gray roots

    There was absolutely zero change when using this product. It did not cover any of the gray roots at my temples. It was as if I had never even used it at all. Do not waste your money on this product.

    Follow directions like I did not the first time

    What the other lady said: you have to follow the directions and do it on wet hair. don’t like is that it’s super red way more red than most of the choices in the same product line, so when you first touch up, it looks a little like you had a painting accident. I get around this by actually washing right after I dye.
