Worthless instructions
Brand new - just out of box. Instructions are worthless; non-existent. How long to charge? When is it charged - when light is on or off? What do different pictures mean for modes? How long does a battery last? ZERO usage instruction info on OralB website - ZERO!

Christian, thank you so much for your feedback. We're incredibly sorry for the confusion and frustration. To answer your questions, this brush has a 24 hours charge time but a 4 week battery life when brushing for 4 minutes a day. The charging light near the on/off switch blinks green while charging. Once fully charged the indicator light turns off. If the battery is running low, the light blinks red after switching the brush off. The three modes for this brush are: Super Sensitive, Gentle, and Daily Clean. You can tell what mode you're on based on the rpm. We'd like to connect about this, ensure your feedback is heard, and answer any other questions you may have. We can be reached at 800-566-7252.

MOLDS EASILY AND YOU CANT REACH IT TO CLEAN IT
Would not recommend at all. Had mold all in the toothbrush after only 2 months of using it and it is not cleanable the mold ain’t even reachable and all I use is electric toothbrush’s I’ve never had this problem before

We're so sorry to hear about this. We understand how frustrating this can be. Please know that there’s nothing in our toothbrush components that would cause mold before use. Mold requires organic material to grow, which isn’t present in our brushes. While it’s rare, mold can develop after use if the brush is stored in a damp area or comes into contact with certain cleaning agents or soaps that can make the plastic porous. Cleaning the brush after each use may prevent this from happening. We'd like to connect about this and help. Please call us at 800-566-7252.

Great electric toothbrush option.
My teeth feel so smooth and clean. Iv been using an off brand electric toothbrush I purchased in the zon. After researching this one looked like a reasonably priced option. And it was!!! Great price. Great product. Great results! My teeth feel like I’ve just come from a teeth cleaning at the dentist.

Overall, its a great value for money and a smart purchase if you want to invest in your dental health.

Problems with IO brush.
Been using Oral b's for awhile New to the IO model. I understand the red light indicates when brushing too hard, but I can't see it unless brushing the back of my top teeth. Other models had a slight vibration when brushing too hard. Also the battery just dies without warning. Other models would beep when done indicating the battery needs to be charged. A heads up to needing to be charged. The brush head does not last three months, probably because I am brushing too hard since I can't see the red light.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with the features of your brush. Please be assured that our products undergo many quality checks and testing to ensure they arrive in perfect condition and are something you’ll enjoy. The brush head bristles can wear faster by applying too much pressure, rinsing a toothbrush under hot water, or soaking it in a solution. Your feedback is helpful, and we’d like to hear more. When you’re able, please call us at (800) 566-7252 so we can assist you further.

Doesn’t work! Left charging for hours but item doesn’t turn on
1 reply from Oral-B team - 4 months ago
This is not the experience we want you to have with your Oral-B iO toothbrush, Keri, and we're disappointed to learn that it won't turn on. We're happy to help you as our toothbrushes have a 2-year warranty and they go through many quality checks through the manufacturing process to ensure perfect condition and function. Here are some troubleshooting tips for you to try: -Make sure the toothbrush is not on or near a metal surface as it can interfere with the electromagnetic charger. -Check another outlet or try another device on the same outlet -If you have another Oral-B iO charger, try charging the brush on it If the toothbrush still doesn't work, please call us at (800) 566-7252 with your brush on hand. We're happy to assist you further.

Do Not Buy!
My husband bought me this for Christmas and I hate it. By the time you're done brushing your teeth the whole handle of the toothbrush is nothing but slime from the toothpaste and your hand is also covered in wet toothpaste. Would not recommend.
1 reply from Customer Care team - 5 months ago
We're sorry that you're not enjoying the present your husband picked up for you, Micky. We always hope consumers will love their iO2, and appreciate the thorough clean it delivers. It might help to know that you only need a small dollop of toothpaste on the brush head when brushing. Then, don’t turn the brush on until it’s inside your mouth. Once it’s working, let the brush do the work, moving it from tooth to tooth, without scrubbing. If you’d like more help with this, know we’re here to help, and hope you’ll give us a call any Monday-Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM, EST, at 1 (800) 566-7252.

It has a smart pressure sensor to guide your brushing and an easy-to-use display for real-time feedback. The brush head works well for a thorough clean, and the battery lasts a long time. Overall, it’s a great option for anyone looking for a more advanced, effective brushing experience.

Mold Machine
While the toothbrush itself works great, the design leads to massive mold growth. Despite following the recommended cleaning and maintenance of both the handle and replacement heads, mold grows.

We understand the importance of knowing that your toothbrush is sanitary, and we are disappointed to hear that you have experienced mold on your Oral-B iO 2 Toothbrush. All of our products go through rigorous research and consumer testing in the hopes of bringing you a product you will love, and please know that your feedback is being shared with our Quality Team. It sounds like you do a great job of cleaning your brush every day, and this is not something that we would expect. For a deeper cleaning, we recommend soaking the adapter portion of the brush in warm water overnight, scrubbing with a soft-bristle brush, and then holding the adapter under warm water while it is running, before drying the brush off. We would love a chance to learn more about your experience so we are better able to assist you, and we encourage you to give our team a call at (800) 566-7252.

Great for brushing but doesn't stay clean inside
5 stars for teeth-cleaning ability! I changed to Oral B at the recommendation of my periodontist as I have a history of gum recession. I've enjoyed the teeth-cleaning features of this brush. Unfortunately, I've had recurring issues with keeping this toothbrush clean. After just 2 months of regular use I began to detect a mildewy smell. The design, while sleek, tends to keep water inside - both the brush head and the handle head. I replace my brush head regularly but that does not solve the issue of the mold inside the handle head. I've now had the brush for 5 months and clean it every day according to Oral B instructional videos (disassemble and thoroughly rinse and dry both parts, allow to dry separately overnight); however, this still hasn't solved the problem. It's nearly impossible to dry all the crevices out completely after rinsing, and the brush head can't stand up on its own to dry overnight. I've soaked it in vinegar, denture cleaner, soap, etc., and still struggled to get rid of the smell. I don't really want to clean my teeth with something that molds easily - and I'm really bummed about it. I might switch to a different toothbrush model that doesn't have so many crevices.

We understand the importance of knowing that your toothbrush is sanitary, and we are disappointed to hear that you have been experiencing mold with your Oral-B iO Toothbrush. When designing our products, we dedicate much time to consumer testing and product research to ensure that we are bringing you exceptional products for your oral care, and this is not something we would expect. It sounds like you have been doing a wonderful job at cleaning your toothbrush the recommended way, by thoroughly rinsing and pulling apart the brush head and handle, and allowing them to air dry. It is important to note that while it is ok to wash them with a mild detergent, certain cleaning solutions may cause the plastic to become porous and allow bacterial growth. We would love a chance to learn more about your experience so we are better able to assist you, as well as gather some additional information for our Quality Team, and encourage you to give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

Not what I expected
I received this toothbrush yesterday and was a little disappointed. I believe the advertising is somewhat misleading, details below, and will return it soon. My two big issues are:1 - the toothbrush heads are different that the older versions and, from what I can find out, the old brushes are not interchangeable with the new model. I did not see that documented anywhere and 2 - Also, I think, the advertising implies there is a lighted timer display on the brush someplace. If there is, I cannot find it on the brush.

Thanks for leaving your review, Robert, and we're sorry you feel this way. Oral-B iO2 Starter Kits come with 1 Oral-B iO Gentle Care brush head and 1 Oral-B iO Ultimate Clean brush head. The standard iO2 toothbrush comes with 1 Oral-B iO Gentle Care brush head. All of our Oral-B iO Replacement Brush Heads (Ultimate Clean, Gentle Care, Ultimate White and Targeted Clean) are compatible with all Oral-B iO handles, including the iO2. There isn't a lighted or visual timer on the iO 2. Instead, it has a vibrating 2-minute timer, breaking the brushing session into 30-second intervals for each quadrant. Feel free to call us at (800) 566-7252 if you'd like any additional assistance.

Lots of black mold. Steer clear.
My dentist insisted I get an Oral B IO because I have crowded teeth and I would get a better clean. I ditched my sonicare for this toothbrush and I regret it deeply. I just got through picking an inch thick layer of black mold from the toothbrush connector. It is so poorly designed to have that issue. I’m mortified.

We never want you to feel disappointed when using your iO2, Chandler. Our products undergo rigorous quality checks to reach you in perfect condition, allowing you to get the ultimate teeth-cleaning experience. The iO series 2 is designed with openings on the brush heads to allow water to flush through the brush head tube and let air inside. This venting ensures the brush head dries sufficiently after use and reduces moisture inside the tube. What you have described can occur if the brush is stored in a location exposed to mold and bacteria, and the plastic comes into contact with ingredients of a corrosive nature. Certain ingredients used in those types of products can make the plastic porous, allowing dirt and moisture to find places to settle. To avoid this, it's important to always rinse your brush head thoroughly after each use to prevent residue from building up and blocking the openings. Your satisfaction means everything to us, and we'd like to learn more about your experience with your iO2. When you have time, please give us a call at 1-800-566-7252, 9 am-6 pm EST, Monday-Friday.

Great Toothbrush
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toothbrush is amazing! The 3 cleaning modes let me switch between gentle and deep clean, and my teeth feel so polished after every use. This toothbrush is completely rechargeable, you just have to plug it into a outlet, I would say for the price it is Definitely worth it!”

Excellent cleaning and quiet to use
Very quiet, much quieter than the old model it replaced. We love how clean our teeth feel, and the clean feeling lasts all day. It’s a little slippery to hold, especially if it gets wet, but we’re getting used to that. The timer is helpful and so is the red light indicator that tells you you’re applying too much pressure. All in all we love our new toothbrush. Would highly recommend!

Horrible Toothbrush
A few years ago My dentist recommended I should get an electric toothbrush Sonicare. I have been using it for a little over two years. My new dentist recommended to get an Oral B. So I recently purchased a io series 2. This unit is horrible, it says two minute timer. It does not shut off after two minutes not like my Sonicare. It just gives an extra vibration. vs the vibration it gives off during 30 sec quadrants. The neck of the head is way thicker than the Sonicare. And after ever use I have to pull off the head and clean it out I do not have to do that with my Sonicare. This unit was a waste of money I just hate it.
1 reply from Customer Care team - 10 months ago
We're disappointed to hear you don't like our iO Series 2 compared to Sonicare, and we're happy to help you. The timer is to let you know the recommended time for brushing has passed. It doesn't shut off automatically in case you need a little longer brushing. Cleaning your toothbrush is ideal to keep it at the optimal performance. If you prefer a toothbrush without an active timer, we recommend considering other models within our product range that offer customization options. Our higher-tier iO models, such as the iO4 through iO10, provide the ability to control and adjust the timer settings through the Oral-B app. With these models, you can personalize your brushing experience by modifying the timer duration or turning it off, according to your preferences. We value your feedback and would appreciate you giving us a call at (800) 566-7252 for assistance with the brush and any questions you may have.

Not my favorite
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this toothbrush, but I don’t. The head is so big, I could barely fit it in my mouth. I do love the fact that it is very gentle on your gums. The handle is so thick. The battery life is pretty good but it’s just not worth it for me. The price isn’t bad but buying extra toothbrush heads are.

Teeth are clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The toothbrush is a bit loud, but it cleans well. I wish the head of it was a bit thinner, so I could get to my back teeth a bit better. The price is good, and the batter power is great as well. Would recommend.
