Description

A lightweight, sunscreen fluid that provides optimal protection while supporting the skin’s moisture barrier. Formulated with organic UV filters, rice phytomolecules, ethyl ferulate, and microalgae to boost antioxidant protection. Developed for all skin tones with a moisturizing finish.

To Use: As the last step in your skincare routine, apply a generous amount of sunscreen onto face 15 minutes before sun exposure and smooth on until fully absorbed.

Uses Helps prevent sunburn, If used as directed with other sun protection measures (see Directions), decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun

Directions

Directions Apply liberally and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure, Sun Protection Measures. Spending time in the sun increases risk of skin cancer and early aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: Limit time in the sun, especially from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Wear long sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses, Reapply at least every 2 hours, Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating, Children under 6 months: ask a doctor.

    Sunscreen too shiny

    I think this formula is probably great as a sunscreen but the finish is to shiny for me I like a more natural finish. I’ll use it at home working in my garden. Also if you are working on a slightly tinted version I would give that a try.

    Great products

    I had a facial and had a lot of tiny blackheads on nose and chin and she recommended the prequel oil wash. Immediately started using and the blackheads have not returned. Next I bought the retinol and am/pm moisturizer and loved them both. Recently started using the glowing skin set and my skin looks great and at 60 years old,I feel like my skin isn’t dull looking anymore.

    Good product but smelly

    OMG! The Best

    I received this as a free gift for meeting a certain purchase minimum and I didn’t think that I would ever use it as I was deep in with Supergoop and just came across Medicube and have been using as well. I thought I’d give it to my daughter and tried it so I can give her feedback. OMG! It is the best SPF. It is hydrating, doesn't pile, feels good on. A definite daily product. I haven’t layered anything over it by way of like make up yet but haven’t had any problems with layering over my moisturizer and other skin care. I am a 52 year old African American female with sensitive skin prone to acne and hyperpigmentation living in CO (dry climate). I would recommend.

    Not greasy!

    I love the way this product goes on and is not greasy on my skin but I do not like the smell. However, the smell does go away after a few seconds.

    Solar Shade - Easy and Effective

    Solar Shade is easy to apply and is very effective in protecting my skin without the greasy, stickiness of other facial sunscreens I've tried. I also really appreciated the video on the best way to apply it. I will be reordering!

    Oily Face. Burns eyes

    I usually use Korean sunscreens because they’re comfortable and lightweight. I love other Prequel products, so I decided to try this one but it’s a miss. It’s extremely greasy, leaves my face looking oily for hours, and it burns my eyes throughout the day. I would say just skip this product and get any korean sunscreen instead.

    I try to use mineral sunscreen as I'm convinced it's better than chemical, but when I'm just too tired or busy to do moisturizer plus mineral sunscreen, I just use this and it's great.

    Check the Expiration Dates

    I really do like this sunscreen for daily use. It leaves a nice moisturized feeling on the skin and doesn’t break me out. Works good under makeup. I first purchased a bottle last year and noticed that mine was now at the expiration date. So I purchased another online and received my shipment on 4/13/2026. The bottle I was shipped had expired on 3/20/2026 and will now have to return it. Please check the expirations of sun protection products.

    I'm a huge fan of Prequel, but the Solar Shade Sunscreen has left me dissapointed.

    I'm a huge fan of Prequel, but the Solar Shade Sunscreen has left me disappointed after repurchasing multiple times to give it a fair chance. Pros: The packaging is excellent. I love how it feels in the hand. The texture is so nice; it's one of my favorites. It's thick enough not to run while applying, looks great under makeup, and doesn't pill. Cons: There are FAR better options for the price. It stings my eyes when I wear glasses, so I have to avoid putting it on any area that my glasses will cover (I didn't experience eye stinging when not wearing glasses). It has a strong sunscreen smell, to the point where people will comment on it. It doesn't smell bad to me, but it's certainly noticeable. The last two bottles that I bought were both expired. One was purchased online, and one in-store. I was able to get refunded, but it's a pain because the expiration date isn't visible on the box. It's written on the bottle itself.

    Daily Go-To

    Super lightweight and leaves a beautiful finish that dries down really natural looking. Doesn't look greasy on me at all and I usually have that problem with a lot of sunscreens. If I let it dry down before heading out the house, I dont find to have a problem with it burning my eyes either.
