Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Healing Ointment Tube - 3.75 oz

Must be the fragrance in this product or something but it made my hands break out in small, itchy bumps. I use the Palmer's cocoa butter cream in the tub just fine but this product has different ingredients. Such a bummer but not for sensitive skin, I guess.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free tube of Palmer’s Healing Ointment Intensive Therapy. It’s basically petroleum jelly and cocoa butter. I haven’t really had a need for it yet but I’m sure it helps to prevent chafing and can help moisturize dry skin patches.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was gifted the side and for my honest review. This healing ointment came at the perfect time as he is at the end stage of his poison ivy episode. A quick application of this ointment helped to moisturize his very dry skin. I may have applied too much, but it absorbed in his skin quickly. After a few hours, his skin is still moisturized. Also, this ointment has a nice baby powder smell to it which is much better than any harsh fragrance.

I was super excited to try this out because I love palmers chapstick and they make a lot of other really great products! I was hoping to be able to put this on my lips like I would with aquaphor, but unfortunately it feels a lot like Vaseline which I am not a fan of and it has that greasy feeling and smell of petroleum jelly. I’m not sure that it is intended for lips, although I don’t think it will hurt them, because the opening to squeeze out the product is rather large. However, I will be using this for my legs and to put on cuts and scars because of the healing properties of coco butter. It smells better than Vaseline which I like a lot. The price is also very fair and the tube size is generous. A little bit goes a long way with this so that helps with the price aspect. The texture is nice and smooth as well without any clumps. If you are looking to switch up from using Vaseline on the body I think this has added benefits, but if you want it for your lips I would try something different.
