Q: Can you give me the replacement brush details so I can order and extra one?

submitted by Lp - 9 months ago
  • A: Yes please!!! How often should I replace the filters and brushes? Just tried it out and LOVE IT! Works wonderful! I'm so shocked at how much it really picked up!!!! Best purchase ever!

submitted byLp - 9 months ago
  • A: For the CrossWave EdgeFind model 4223, the correct replacement brush is the Multi-Surface Pet Brush Roll, part number 1618641. It’s designed to handle pet hair and multi-surface cleaning. Let us know if you’d like help finding compatible filters too!

Q: Will this work in vinyl floors

submitted by Mcash - 1 month ago
  • A: Yes — the BISSELL CrossWave EdgeFind Pet (model 4223) can be used on vinyl floors, as long as they’re sealed. It’s designed for multi-surface cleaning and works on materials like tile, laminate, linoleum, and sealed hard floors, which includes most vinyl flooring.

Q: Does bissell make a sweeper that toggles between wet and dry?

submitted by Gene - 1 month ago
  • A: Hi Gene! Yes—we do. BISSELL makes several CrossWave® machines (including the EdgeFind you mentioned) that toggle between wet and dry cleaning in one pass. They vacuum up dry debris and wash your floors at the same time, so there’s no need to switch modes or machines. Models like the CrossWave EdgeFind Pet are designed for multi-surface use, letting you move from picking up pet hair to washing sealed hard floors seamlessly. If you’re looking for something with or without a cord or with more advanced self-clean features, we can help narrow down the best option!

Q: Can this be used dry to vacuum area rugs in addition to the wet mode?

submitted by momwatch - 1 month ago
  • A: The BISSELL CrossWave EdgeFind Pet Hair Pick-Up Floor Cleaner is designed primarily to vacuum and wash at the same time using water and formula. It’s not intended to be used as a traditional “dry-only” vacuum for rugs like an upright vacuum would be.

Q: I need to order a new filter, which one would for this vacuum model?

submitted by Ginger Bread House - 2 months ago
  • A: For the CrossWave® EdgeFind Pet (model 4223), the correct replacement is the BISSELL® CrossWave® Filter part #1866.

Q: How often does brush and filter need to be replaced? Do cleaning solutions come with it?

submitted by Dianne - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi Dianne! Great questions. The brush roll (multi-surface brush) is typically replaced about every 6 months, depending on use, and the filter should be replaced every 3–6 months to keep performance strong—more often if you use it heavily or have pets. Your CrossWave usually comes with a sample-size cleaning solution to get you started, but you’ll want to purchase full-size formulas separately for regular use. Let us know if you’d like help choosing the right formula!

Q: Does the cleaning solution have a scent to it? We are highly sensitive to strong smells.

submitted by Solin - 2 months ago
  • A: The CrossWave EdgeFind Pet Hair Pick‑Up typically comes with a pet‑focused cleaning formula, which does have a noticeable fresh scent. If strong smells are a concern, we recommend using one of our Free & Clear multi‑surface formulas, which are fragrance‑free and designed for scent‑sensitive households. You can use those safely in this machine instead of the included formula.

Q: Can this be Use on carpet

submitted by Kkej1 - 3 months ago
  • A: The BISSELL CrossWave EdgeFind Pet Hair Pick‑Up can be used on low‑pile area rugs to refresh them, but it’s not designed for wall‑to‑wall or high‑pile carpet. It’s best for sealed hard floors and quick rug cleanups, not deep carpet cleaning. For carpets, we recommend a dedicated upright or portable carpet cleaner instead.

Q: When we opened the box there was no brush. Should this have come with a brush? Wondering if someone used and returned with no brush.

submitted by No brush - 3 months ago
  • A: Yes — the BISSELL CrossWave EdgeFind Pet Hair Pick‑Up Floor Cleaner (model 4223) should include a brush roll in the box. The machine cannot operate without a brush roll installed, so it is considered a standard included part, not an optional accessory. If yours was missing, we recommend reaching out to BISSELL Customer Support so we can help make this right for you. In the U.S., you can call 1‑800‑237‑7691 for assistance.

Q: Does this work on luxury vinyl plank without damaging it?

submitted by Ss - 3 months ago
  • A: Yes — the BISSELL CrossWave EdgeFind Pet Hair Pick‑Up Floor Cleaner is safe to use on luxury vinyl plank (LVP) as long as the flooring is sealed, which most LVP is. It’s designed for sealed hard floors like vinyl, laminate, tile, and sealed wood, and it vacuums and washes at the same time without over‑wetting the surface.

The Crosswave Edgefind is a versatile cleaning machine that effectively vacuums and mops simultaneously, making it ideal for busy households with kids and pets. Guests appreciate its lightweight design, ease of use, and ability to clean right up to edges and corners. More like a wet dust mop than a true floor cleaner

This really doesn’t clean the floor, it’s more like dusting the floor. As an example, if there is a spot of dried sauce or a dried up fruity pebble that had fallen on the floor while wet, you would have to go over and over, maybe fifteen times before it would clean the floor. If you just want to vacuum and wipe up dust, this would be suitable.

Good for cleaning up after messy people

I picked this up today and spent the day cleaning our floors. So we live in an 1800 sq ft house with us, a four year old, a baby on the way, a long haired cat, and my mother who is disabled and tends to make a lot of crumbs and spills. Our floor is a lot to keep up with, and I needed something that can tackle the messy floors in a short amount of time. Like a lot of other cleaning devices, you still have to take it apart to clean the parts to keep them from getting gunky and smelly. It does have a self-clean cycle but it’s a 40 second cleaning cycle. It’s mostly to clean up after smaller messes or the clean most of the nasty mess off before disassembly. I am going to get a spare roller and filter to change them out between uses. That will also allow me to throughly clean the parts after use. I have one less star because you can’t control the amount of water you put on the floor. It’s not that big of a deal, but it would be nice to control the flow. A lot of dirt came up off the floors. If you do a larger space, you will have to empty the tank more than once. Make sure not to get the filter wet if you’re going to use it again immediately.

    Great purchase

I am over the moon excited in the results of Crosswave Edgefind. I used it straight out of the box. I have all hardwood floors. They were very dirty with high traffic of dog prints and hair. The Crosswave was very light and easy to push and lift. It was very easy to clean. I'm very pleased with my purchase so far. My floors are so clean and it makes my house feel so clean.

    Meh

I love this product, but I do wish I went with a different Vacuum mop. The self-clean feature hardly does a thing, so after every use I have to deep clean all the little parts so the machine doesn’t get smelly or nasty. Also the edge-finder only being on one side isn’t very convenient, it would be amazing if it were on both sides as you don’t always have the option to turn the machine around to get all the edges. All-in-all, it still makes my life easier with my kids and pets, but I wish I did more research and got a better one.
1 reply from Bissell Team team - 1 month ago
Thank you for sharing your experience—we understand how frustrating it can be when cleanup and edge performance don’t meet expectations. To help keep the machine fresh, try running the self-clean cycle with fresh solution right after use and removing/rinsing the brush roll and dirty tank to air dry fully, which can reduce odor buildup. If you’d like personalized tips or to explore options, please visit support.bissell.com or call 1-800-237-7691—we’re here to help!

    Not what it once was

Okay I’ve had this mop for about a month now and I’ve used it several times. This was purchased as a replacement for my old Bissell Crosswave that I had for nearly 8 years. I figured it was a safe bet to purchase the new version of what I had. Honestly I’m disappointed… the suction isn’t as good as my original crosswave and I don’t feel as though the brush cleans as well as my old mop did either. The new mop head is also too big to fit underneath some of my furniture whereas my old mop was able to. The edge finder side is kind of a joke as you have to be on that side of your hallway etc to make use of it but even then it’s hardly closer to the wall than the other side IMO. I’ve tried another pricier brand of vacuum mop prior and wasn’t in love with results in price point so I’m torn on what to do with this one! If my old mop hadn’t stopped squirting out of one side of the head i’d still be using it. May try one other mop and decide if this is a keep or return…
1 reply from Bissell Team team - 1 month ago
We’re sorry to hear this didn’t live up to your previous CrossWave experience—that’s understandably frustrating. For best suction and cleaning, make sure the dirty tank, filter, and brush area are clean and fully seated, and try slower passes to allow the machine to pick up more debris and liquid. If performance still isn’t where it should be, please reach out to BISSELL at support.bissell.com or 1‑800‑237‑7691 so we can help further.

Although I put the Handle part in place, it comes out of place when lifting the product, which is very difficult for me. I'm waiting to be helped with this

Rabia, we’re sorry to hear about the difficulty you’re having—this sounds frustrating. The handle should click securely into place, so we recommend firmly pressing it down until you hear/feel it lock and checking that it’s fully aligned with the connection point. If it continues to come loose, please reach out to BISSELL Support at support.bissell.com or 1-800-237-7691 so we can help get this resolved quickly.

    Love her!

I love this one! Very easy to use and easy to clean out after as well. If you don’t clean it right away, it can develop a stinky smell. But just clean it right after use and let the roller sit in the holder outside of the vac mop and it won’t stink. And run the self clean option a couple of times too. Good as new! Only down side is I can’t be sure if the replacement parts will fit this model or not until I get them. Only reason I have if 4 stars.

    Dog Mom Approved

I love this machine! We live in a coastal area with sand and two bernese mountain dogs - this BISSELL is a work horse. I have used every day since receiving and the transition to floor and area rugs is really nice to refresh. Highly recommend! It's also great when my granddaughter arrives to keep floors clean. I have several BISSELL cleaning products and they never disappoint. They have got me through puppy stages and sick dogs.

    Can't find replacement parts

I’ve been using this mop for a few months, and the brush and filter have finally gone bad. I’ve tried to find replacement parts, and they are no where to be found. I finally found them on Bissell’s website, and to get one of each is $50 with shipping included. If I would have known this, I would have skipped purchasing.

    Floors never looked so clean

Overall very satisfied with this mop/vac. Pros: you never mop with dirty water and can see all the yuck when done, cleaning solutions all smell nice, lightweight for easy maneuvering, corded so it has better power, light really shows everything! Cons: doesn’t lay flat enough to clean under the bed, won’t clean stairs with it, forced to buy expensive cleaning solutions since they say regular floor cleaners will damage machine, really hard to find replacement rollers!

It worked great for a little over a month. I made sure to wash and clean it with every use. Yesterday I tried using it and it turns on rolls once and then stops completely flashing a light and turning off. I would like the manufacturer to contact me to troubleshoot it or replace it.

    Not satisfactory

I just purchased the Bissell crosswave edgefind and on first use I found negativity. One of the primary reasons I have always gone with Bissell and Shark they are the only companies that make a hard floor cleaner that also cleans rugs to my knowledge. With this one I immediately had problems with my kitchen rugs it was not rolling and shutting off. I went to the website for help on the chat I was told one reason could be the rugs were too light. This could be true. But I also tried on thicker heavier rugs and experienced about the same. I had to clean the rugs with a lot of carefulness and very slow so the roller didn’t stall. At this point does it clean rugs! I also experienced having to refill the clean water more often than usual and the drawback is the solution is disbursed constantly there is no control over that. Also it does not have a feature that tackles harder spots so anything that is really stuck on won’t get cleaned. It does have the feature of edge cleaning which is the first time and it was a selling point. It’s also though very sensitive if it bangs anything it stalls. It is not proficient, efficient, or effective. It is more lightweight than most. I will be returning it. It’s not satisfactory and it should do a lot better for rugs if that’s what it’s built to do.

It worked great the first couple of times & I made to sure to clean it very well after each use. Tried using it today for my area rug and it turns on & rolls for a few seconds before stopping then flashing lights and then turns off completely. Very sad bc now my area rug is just wet in a section of it.

    Stinky socks

It takes longer to clean all the parts after using it, it would be quicker to just sweep and mop. If you don’t clean every part, it stinks like dirty socks and you can’t use it or your whole house stinks.
1 reply from Bissell Team team - 7 months ago
Hi Katie, thanks for sharing your experience. We understand cleaning the parts can feel time-consuming, but it’s important to prevent odors. Rinsing the brush roll and dirty water tank right after use usually helps keep things fresh. Allow everything to air dry completely before placing it back in the machine.
