Why does this need a firmware update? Lame!!
Be forewarned of firmware update! Mine just quit working after a year even after being fully charged. Turns out that you need to find a firmware update. Who has time for that when you just want to plug and play? I bought two of these and gave one to my brother. His still works, but it's just a matter of time that it'll be dead!

Bass distortion
Generally very happy with my purchase, only issue is even at -4 setting, there is slight distortion in the bass at moderate levels, don’t know if this is a sample variance issue.

Game changer. I always bought cheap speakers assuming it didn’t matter or I’d bring it out, get hammered and lose it- no biggie just order another one. Sound is so good out of this tiny speaker, I can never go back to the cheap ones. If i lose it whilst hammered i shall order another bose

Speakers will not pair
Great speaker, bought one then another to go stereo. Worked okay for a short while, now they will not pair. Have tried hard reset and every other suggestion on the Bose app, with no luck.

OK speaker, BAD company
Speaker is fine, BOSE is the problem. As owner of 2 of the previous iteration of PA systems (L system model II) I will tell you that they no longer carry the proprietary and ONLY cables usable to connect bass modules to their system. Product is less than 5 years old. This is bad business on the part of BOSE and why I will likely not purchase any further BOSE merch. Oh yeah, and they ditched all the support for the WAVE systems as well. Leaving previous customers high and dry is usually not a good long term corporate strategy.
