Terrible. Mop leaves water all over the house as the tiny drainage tray and pipe block every time with pet hair. Terrible design. Avoid

By far the worst vacuum I have ever owned!
This was my third iRobot Roomba and it was bought less than a year ago and it has been absolutely terrible and it's so LOUD! Trying to contact iRobot about a warranty claim is ridiculous. I think I will look for a different brand of vacuum after this one. We have laminate floor and carpet in our house. It leaves behind so much on the laminate that I have to re-vacuum with my stick vacuum or use a dust mop. It stops in the middle of the floor and says it is stuck when there is nothing around it. Has trouble redocking. I replaced the rollers with genuine parts and now it is even louder sounds like rocks getting tumbled around. I would stay away from this vacuum.

Poor Set up Design
I had the J Series Roomba for years it worked great!! Unfortunately it stopped working due to lack of suction issue. I was very excited to get the newest 705 Max irobot. I recieved the vacuum in a few days had to download the new app "Roomba Home" started set-up, it found my WiFi quickly but it would not connect because my WiFi password contained special characters. !? Which most all sites require a letter, lower case and upper case, number, and special character. So Roomba wanted me to change my WiFi password, Uh No. I would then have to reset up or re-enter my new password on EVERYTHING in my home. More than 20 items a few of which I would have needed to contractor to come out and do. VERY disappointed!! I packed it up and am returning it.

Waste of my time and money
If I could give this piece of crap a negative star I would. I have had this hunk of junk for 30 days and it has been nothing but junk. The thing does nothing but go around the room "calibrating", finding itself and "reading the room" and depletes the battery before it ever decides to clean. It gets more than a foot or 2 from its base and just spins. When it does clean, I still have to vacuum after it. We have open floor plan and hardwood floors on main level, should be easy for it, but no. I have tried it in our den on the carpet, low pile, and it will start vacuuming and then just stop and say it needs help when it is just sitting in the middle of the room with nothing around it. So carpet floors and rugs, it wont work on. This thing states it reads the room and is suppose to avoid furniture, etc. that may be in it's path.....that is a wrong statement. It in fact does everything BUT that. It beats up the legs of our furniture, the legs on some chairs and piano stool are dinked and scratched from it, knocks over plants, pulls/knocks down lamps from tables, tries to climb on the dog bed and furniture and just sits on rugs and grinds into them and just bangs into cabinets...constantly. It is loud and does not clean. This thing was an absolute waste of my money and I would not recommend it to anyone. I was so excited to try this. We had a NEATO cleaner for over 10 years and it was so easy to use and did a wonderful job. We were sad when it no longer worked and had to get a new one. NEATO is no longer being made, so we decided we would try this due to the options and reviews and being made in America. Disappointed in this purchase is an understatement. It is literally a piece of crap and I will never buy another one of these.

Disappointed in this model's pet related abilities
We generally love our roombas, name them and consider them our least needy, stupidest pets. Purchased the Max 705 vac because it showed as best for pets and pet hair. We have 5 cats (4 short haired and 1 long). This model has been a disappointment in relation to pets. All of the wheels collect hair in between the housing and the wheel and in the wheel itself. The wheels need to be cleaned constantly. It effects the roomba's ability to move freely and to clean efficiently. Houses with pets have dust yet the up load station regularly thinks the bag is full when it is no where near so due to dust blocking air flow. We bought it to clean hair and dust but I can only assume that this model was not tested in a real house with real pets. Additionally we often find it sitting in the middle of the floor lights red no clear indication of why. Have always loved our roombas and they help keep our house manageable but this one has been a disappointment for the very reasons we purchased it.

Roomba Home app is poorly written, does not give sequential steps to access program functions and is, overall, almost worthless. The Roomba works well but the app support stinks.

Don't bother
An utterly useless product. I have spent 4 months back and forth with iRobot as my original purchase hardly ever managed to dock properly, instead banging against the dock over and over and even when placed on the dock and saying "Charging" it would simply pull itself off of the dock. They have finally replaced, it clearly wasn't the dock that was the problem as the replacement is doing the same thing. iRobot told me it was because my carpet is dark grey. Where on the product page does it tell you not to buy if you have a dark carpet? Absolutely nowhere. This product repeatedly leaves debris behind when it is vaccuming, my old model was far better, it actually cleaned my carpets. This one is a piece of plastic trash.

Just got the 705max vac with auto empty dock and absolutely love it. We have hard wood floors throughout the house and this does a great job of getting up all the dog hair. Goes under the bed and furniture if high enough and the brush does a really good job of getting the edges and corners. This has saved us so much time with always needing to vacuum up the dog hair. Would highly recommend.

Disappointing in operation
We have several dogs and our old Roomba I9 quit operating and is discontinued. After checking many reviews, the Max 705 has not lived up to the hype. Dog hair is not fully emptied from the much smaller dustbin, even hanging out the back. Bottom extraction worked much better, the vacuum times are shorter between emptying and recharging. The vacuum bag with the cardboard insert is not as well made. The internal filter is smaller and has to be cleaned and changed more often. The products took a step back in my opinion. The vacuum stops in the hall doorway when going back to the station, I have to pick it up and bring back. Too late to return but left a sour taste for the product

It was very thorough while cleaning and getting all the areas that mapped well at set up. I like the black color with the copper letters, makes it looks very chic.. I have to admit though it does make quite a bit loud noise I wish it was a bit more quiet. Over all I can say this is a very reliable vacuum. Very happy with product, makes my life easy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am actually quite impressed with this. It was easy to set up, the dock doesn't have a huge footprint and fits nicely in the corner. I messed up the map the first time by trying to watch it, it thought I was a wall. It was even able to vacuum off my throw rugs and I was excited I didn't have to move them. I had a hard time keeping up with pet hair and dust and this got in all the corners nicely! I highly recommend this product.

I got wood floors and this Roomba picked up way more dust and per have than expected. The mapping feature works well and it moves around stuff without getting stuck. My favorite feature is auto empty because it saves time and makes maintenance easier. It’s quieter than I thought. And impressed by clean cleaning performance inconvenience. Charging is easy it goes back to charge easily. The size is also perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product in exchange for my honest review. I am thrilled and absolutely in love with this thing! I’m a busy new mom in a new house and I can use every ounce of help to keep the floors clean. I love setting this off just before I leave the house and I come home to freshly cleaned floors! The setup was a breeze and the app is very easy to use. I had no issue with mapping and it does a pretty good job getting under the furniture. I use this concurrently with my usual weekly vacuum routine (I have a toddler and a dog so frequency is important) and this will touch up my floors during the week so I can stay on top of dust, dirt and pet hair.

The Roomba does great on hardwood and carpet, the only surface that has given it trouble is our thin, washable carpet. Roomba still makes her way onto it but crumples the carpet doing so. The app is so convenient, you can start your Roomba from anywhere and come home to clean floors! It docks and empties well and has overall been a pretty low maintenance addition to our cleaning supplies!

It’s been about 30 days and once mapped with the app, this thing is saving me so much time. Floor is always clean. The transition from carpeted areas to tiled areas is flawless. It has a long battery life and charges pretty quickly. The fact that i can do hands off cleaning is wonderful., no corner is left untouched. Seriously, get the roomba!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first experience using a robot vacuum and I’m SO impressed! After a few weeks of use, I use this daily with the app and it’s incredibly user friendly and easy to figure out and operate. Set up was a breeze, it’s basically ready to go out of the box with nothing really to put together or screw in. No tools needed! I love how the app shows you the roomba location and all of the pathways that it went in your home. Super convenient. I do find that it doesn’t always get every little inch of my home, but with running it daily, it doesn’t bother me. The auto empty feature is a huge plus because it means less work for me. The empty bag holds quite a lot! I’ve changed out the bag once so far and there was dust that escaped it and is in the container itself, but that’s a minimal complaint. You do have to make sure when you run the roomba, you have doors shut that you don’t want it to go in, and all larger items are picked up, because it can and will get stuck and then it just sits there idle until you fix it, which is an inconvenience if you plan to run it while you’re away from your home. All in all, I’m super impressed and it gets right to the edges of floors and walls, including stairs! One less thing I can take off my to do list for daily chores, is a big win for me and my family!
