Q: Can you use a reusable k-cup so you can use your own coffee?

  • A: Not that I've found. Unless I'm doing something wrong, the Keurig Universal My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter, as suggested by Keurig Care, does not fit my brewer. It is too tall with or without the adapter.

  • A: Just to see if it would work, I just now used my reusable iCoffee iCup (the sole survivor of my iCoffee one cup machine, may it R.I.P.), and it worked perfectly fine in the Keurig K-Mini. Just had to be sure it was flush before closing, but it did the job and didn't kill my K-mini (whew!)

  • A: You have to remove the brewing unit that is already in the machine by pushing it up from underneath. We tried to get it out from the top and it didn't work. We were about to give up when my husband watched a video online about this machine and the reusable coffee filter. I was about ready to take both the coffee maker and reusable cup back to Target. Keurig just keeps telling people it is compatible but doesn't tell them what they have to do . When you look at the machine from the top it appears that the installed k-cup filter is one piece unable to be removed and it would not lift out from above. I hope this helps anyone else who has an issue with the reusable cup.

Q: We have had a single-serve Keurig for about a year. All of a sudden when you put the pod in, push down on it and push the center button in the coffee maker turns off. We have to play with it several times before it works. Any suggestions?

  • A: Keurig offers another model of this coffeemaker which includes a removable water reservoir, as well as the option of a stronger brew. It is far better, in my opinion. I purchased the lesser model sold here by Target and within a year I upgraded to the slightly more expensive version. They are both fine coffeemakers but if you're like me and want the best version, this one isn't it.

They have this model (though Plus - w/removable water reservoir and K cup storage bin accessory) and in it's detailed description is indicates it's My K Cup compatible. I'll update if that isn't the case once I pick mine up today or tomorrow.

    It doesn't take rocket science to run a Keurig. I used this machine twice and then it broke so I exchanged it for a new one. I brought my new one home and after using it only one time it broke again. I will be returning it. I turn on the machine and fill it with water, then I pop my k-cup in. The machine makes a weird noise, no coffee is dispensed and water leaks out the bottom. Apparently this is a common problem, according to the internet. will not be purchasing again. This thing is garbage.

    Purchased this one in early September within a month it stopped sucking down the water and would just completely power down within about 10 seconds of pushing the start button. I took it back and got a new one and within less than 1 week I am having the exact same problem with the new one. I am taking the second one back to the store today. There is obviously something wrong with this model. I will try a different model this time to see if it is any better, if not then I am giving up on Keurig.

    Thank you for reviewing your K-Mini Plus coffee maker. To make a cup of coffee, begin by lifting the water reservoir lid and pouring in your desired amount of water. Do not fill past the MAX or below the MIN fill lines. Lower the reservoir lid and place your mug on the drip tray. You may then lift the handle and place a K-Cup® pod in the K-Cup® pod holder. Lower the handle completely to close the lid. The brew indicator light will flash to indicate that the brewer is ready. Press the brew button- for bolder coffee, press the STRONG button before pressing the brew button. The brew indicator light will illuminate solid, then begin to pulse while the brewer is heating. After about 2 minutes, the brew indicator light will illuminate solid again and the beverage will begin to dispense. Brewing is complete when the brew indicator light is no longer illuminated.     Defective product. I bought this and it stopped sucking up the water about 30 days after I bought it. I replaced it with the exact model and it happened a second time in less than 2 weeks of me having it. Something is wrong with this product and I would get another machine.

    This is the 2nd Keurig mini that I have owned. The first burnt out after about 8 months with daily use. I purchased a second unit, hoping that it would last longer. Sadly, it was defective from the first use. Instead of holding the water and heating it, as soon as the brew button was hit, the water immediately came through and obviously wasn't warm. I love the idea of the keurig, but sadly, I havent been impressed with the quality.

    Purchased & picked up on 9/3. As of Sunday 9/22, the bottom is leaking water after you fill & start brewing. Also no longer heating the coffee! So disappointed. On my way now to return!
