Q: What is the difference between a Classic and a Classic plus?
submitted by Madkitchenscientist - 6 years ago
A: I'm not sure how old this picture is but the Classic has 275 watts, not 250.
submitted byblendergirl - 4 years ago
A: The only difference is color availability.
submitted byKitchenAidTeam - 6 years ago
Brand expert
A: Description says 250watts for the Classic and 275watts for the Classic pro. That is what the details say, I'm not 100% sure as I haven't received my Classic Pro yet and also the first answer says it's from the "Kitchen Aid Team" and I'd hope they would know so maybe it's a misprint in the details and like they say "color" options is the only difference.
Then again color wouldn't make it for professional use in my opinion but more power would.

Q: how heavy is this stand mixer
submitted by newbaker - 6 years ago
A: This is an awesome mixer. Yes it is very heavy to lift but stays put on your counter when you're mixing on high speed. My last Mixer on high speed moved so much it literally flew off my counter when i wasn't looking

Not as I expected...
This mixer was sent to me as a replacement for an identical one that became defective after less than a year of use. Unfortunately, the new mixer is definitely not up to the same standard as the previous one. I expect a high level of quality and solid construction from a KitchenAid product. In this case, I was disappointed, as the overall assembly and build quality are quite poor. For example, the metal band around the motor, which features the KitchenAid logo and the speed markings, does not sit properly against the body of the machine and vibrates while the mixer is in use (see attached photo). The mixer is also very noisy when operating at medium speed. Furthermore, the whisk attachment does not reach the bottom of the metal bowl when working with small quantities of ingredients. As a result, I have to hold the bowl by hand or otherwise intervene to ensure that liquids such as cream or egg whites are properly whipped. Overall, I am very disappointed with the quality of this replacement mixer and did not expect this level of construction from KitchenAid.

4.5 quart tilt back
I bought the smaller kitchen-aid for my Granddaughter when she got married she got a larger kitchen aid. So I put the small one in my camper it came with the coated beaters but at the tip of both beaters the coating is coming off and I’m afraid that this will come off into my breads and cake mixes the beaters are quite a bit smaller than my 7qt I use at home and I really don’t want to get another coat beaters can you advise? I do quite a bit of baking and making bread and this little mixer is perfect for my camper.

2 and half years
I expected much better durability from a KitchenAid mixer, especially considering the price and reputation. Unfortunately, mine started making a loud knocking/grinding noise after only 2½ years of normal home use. It was never abused or used commercially, so I was surprised to experience what appears to be an internal mechanical problem so soon. For a premium appliance that's marketed as long-lasting, I expected many years of reliable performance. Now I'm faced with either paying for costly repairs or replacing the mixer altogether. While the mixer performed well when it was working, its longevity has been disappointing. I hope KitchenAid improves the durability of its internal components or offers better support for customers who experience premature failures.

Wish I'd gotten one of these sooner!!!
Makes kitchen work so much easier!! I have a nice food processor that I rarely use because it is so time-consuming to clean up afterwards. My new Kitchenaid stand mixer is a breeze to clean. It now lives on my countertop and gets used several time a week. Wish I'd gotten it sooner!! I'm looking for to the holidays now, knowing how much easier it's going to be making all the cookies :)

Quality machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been wanting one of these for a long time and it has more than lived up to expectations. The mixer feels very solid and reliable performing well with everything I've thrown at it so far. Also easy to clean.

Poor design at best!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to adjust the attachment so it didn’t touch the bottom of the bowl but couldn’t finish making a bread dough because the mixer wanted to shake a shudder all over the countertop. My soul purpose for purchasing this was to mix bread dough. What a waste of money. Cutting corners during lean times will eventually sink your company.

Works for me!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to replace a different brand of stand mixer that we had for over 50 years. My new KitchenAid is the perfect capacity and size for a simple home cook and baker. Easy to use and powerful enough to handle all my home baking needs.

Love my new kitchen aid mixer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 4.5-quart stainless steel bowl provides enough capacity for most household recipes, whether you’re mixing cookie dough, cake batter, mashed potatoes, or whipping cream. The tilt-head design makes it easy to add ingredients and swap attachments, while the multiple speed settings provide excellent control for a variety of mixing tasks.

Didn't go well
It quit working the second time I used it. Just stopped in the middle of my kneading. So I am obviously returning it. It is the second one I have bought that I have had to return. So I probably will not get another one. I know lots of people who have them and love them and they work. Mine didn't.

A product Name that says it All
After many years of not having a Kitchen Aid mixer again, I finally decided to buy this product. Had one many years ago as a wedding gift and when it failed , regretabally , I never replaced it. This was the right size, color, and price , so I bought it. Now I can get back to really having a great moxer.

Dissatisfied
I’m super disappointed with this. After first use and wash the bowl had rust spots around the rim. Tried a baking soda paste and it didn’t help. The attachments oxidized so bad I only hand washed them. It leaves a black residue on my hands and sometimes in the food:( I was so excited for this and for the price I’m disappointed
