Q: What is the difference between a Classic and a Classic plus?

A: Description says 250watts for the Classic and 275watts for the Classic pro. That is what the details say, I'm not 100% sure as I haven't received my Classic Pro yet and also the first answer says it's from the "Kitchen Aid Team" and I'd hope they would know so maybe it's a misprint in the details and like they say "color" options is the only difference. Then again color wouldn't make it for professional use in my opinion but more power would.

A: Hi Shsri, KitchenAid made the decision in 2016 to no longer place the spring on the beater shaft on all Classic and Artisan Tilt Head Mixers. By removing the spring and washer on the shaft, it is a benefit as it leaves the beater shaft much easier to clean without the spring. It is also not necessary for the operation of the unit as the tools stay locked without them.

KitchenAid mixers are the best mixers available for the home cook in my opinion. Professional chefs use them as well but more so for small quantities and use Hobart mixers in the professional kitchen. This basic model is perfect for the home cook. I had a different model previously with the raise/lower features instead of tilt head. I like this one better for its compact size.

My girls and I always make cookies together around Christmas and the tradition lives on even though they are both adults now. . Having this mixer made the process require less time, however, it sure was messy! My plan is to buy the guard before next year which should eliminate some of the messiness. I am so glad I treated myself with this mixer! We are Italian and we make homemade pasta, therefore, I will be purchasing g the pasta and grinder attachment as well.

First thing I used it for was Mashing my Sweet Potatoes (Yams) for Thanksgiving Day. It did an OK job but there were still some chunks of potatoes.
