Q: Are these made with any polypropalenes?

A: Polypropylene is a type of plastic. Melitta Cone filters are made from paper, no polyproplenes are added.

Our cone filters are FSC and BPI certified, and no plastics are used or intentionally added during production. Additionally, all of our suppliers confirm that the materials used to make the paper are free from PFAS.

Q: Can you do direct water into these or do you need a machine?

A: No machine needed! These predate the machines. Just aim the water to the center or one side of the paper may fall inward (just move it back). Wet the grounds with a little water then pour the rest in.

A: Hello and thank you for your question. We’re happy to confirm that all of our Melitta filter papers are completely plastic-free. The filters are sealed using a compression method only, with no glues or adhesives involved in the sealing process.

These filters tend to dump the grounds into my coffee. Last box I bought, had issues with 2 out of 100. I’ve had to dump 3 cups of coffee from the last 8 filters I’ve used. Not sire what happened between my last purchase and this one but these filters are CRAP.

What's with the bag fee?
Bought for store pickup. The Colma store is pointblank refusing to refund my $0.25 “Regional Fee” which is explained explicitly in the receipt as a bag fee. I brought my own bag and at the time of the pickup was told by the clerk there would be no charge for a bag. Calling customer service says “Regional Fees” are not refundable Somebody’s script is apparently incorrect and possibly fraudulent

How much I hope others read about these wonderful coffee filters, and buy now not wasting time.

Ridiculous
Frustrating because these filters were in stock at my local target and I ordered them as a pick up order. But because this target store chooses to stock coffee filters in two separate areas of the store, one by the coffee and one by the coffee makers, whoever pulled the order couldn’t find them there on the shelf. I was in the store that day but they were cheaper to order ahead online. Target penalize you for shopping in store and charges a higher price. Ridiculous. So, when my online order was ready for pick up it showed these four items out of stock because the picker couldn’t find them. Target went ahead and ship them to me for free but what a waste of time and energy just because target doesn’t put all of their coffee filters in the same place in the store.
