For us, the licorice content, which raises blood pressure, did not balance out the cinnamon content, which lowers blood pressure and blood sugar—which we already struggle with. It tasted too sweet and knocked us out, after which we learned licorice causes lethargy. "Throat Coat" may be a good marketing name, but the tea seems to affect blood pressure more than it does anything to heal the throat. It is certainly no more effective than any other tea in that regard. We would not recommend it, especially not to those with high- or low-BP issues.

I’m not sure how this works so miraculously, but I had a bronchoscopy followed by a sore throat that lasted a full week instead of the anticipated 2 days. I bought this Throat Coat tea hoping for a little relief and my throat was back to normal by the next day. I do not like black licorice at all or the sweet aftertaste, but it’s completely worth it to me to relieve my throat pain.

One of the very best. When I was younger I had laryngitis for 2 years in a row I took throat coat about a week and a half each got my voice back this was space for almost every store but I actually found it in our favorite grocery store

This stuff is amazing. I woke up crying from a terrible sore throat (likely strep), and ordered one of these. This tea reduced my pain to at least 50% and it really soothed my throat. Tastes amazing and feels amazing. I had difficulty swallowing but I felt at ease when it came to swallowing this tea
