Q: Is it safe to use on nonstick?

  • A: I've used Dawn Platinum on several Teflon coated pans without any issue. I'm quite surprised Dawn hasn't tested it on anything Teflon though!

Q: Can you use this as a pre-wash spray for heavy, stuck-on-food specific dishes, that will be sitting overnight in the dishwasher. Alternatively, would it be OK to run the dishwasher’s pre-wash cycle with some dishes that have been treated with the spray?

    Always on hand

    I love this product i use it on my dishes before i put them in the dishwasher ill spray them let them sit for a little bit and then i just lightly wash them and then throw them in the dishwasher and they come out clean! I even use this on other household things the stove on stains on clothes on everything pretty much only thing is i feel like they dont last long i dont know if im maybe using it too much but i always have to buy refills

    Best Dish Soap ever

    I will never use another dish soap! This stuff cleans hard to get tough grease on pans without the struggle and soaking the pan in hot water. The easy spray bottle is very convenient and then this refill you just replace the spray attachment.

    Lipstick!

    This stuff works on everything! I washed AND dried a whole tube of lipstick with my clothes. I figured the whole load was wrecked anyway, so i might as well try the Dawn Powerwash. It took out EVERY SINGLE STAIN!!!

    Best ever

    This is the best product I've used in years, clothing, metal surfaces, whoever created this deserves a raise. Great for my rib pans and a lot of heavy grease laden Pyrex dishes. I spray it on and sometimes don't get around to washing for two to three hours and the gunk slides right off.

    Unintended Consequences

    Works great on dishes but the unintended consequences of using it caused a rating of 3 vs. 5. The fine mist emitted with each spray lands on the counter eating the polish off the granite. It also goes into the air to be breathed in. Last, we prefer unscented products in our home. Note: Yes, we used the spray bottle properly. We even held it low in our deep sink to help control the mist. Friends and family have the same observations in their homes. We are Dawn fans generally speaking so disappointed.

When using it, please spray directly onto cooled dishes or surfaces rather than into the air to avoid inhaling the mist, which can cause discomfort. Also, be careful not to overspray, as it generates a lot of suds. Regarding scent, the Free & Clear version is free of dyes and strong perfumes, though it does have a light scent. Be assured that our products go through many quality checks to ensure they reach you in perfect condition. To fix this, try fully squeezing the trigger a few times into the sink, making sure it’s fully depressed. This should help the bottle return to its normal shape. If it doesn’t, you can remove the sprayer and reconnect it, ensuring the dip tube is correctly positioned. And, to prevent this from happening again, always make sure to fully squeeze the trigger each time you spray.     Very versatile and works wonders

    This powerwash is amazing! Cleans stuck on food easily! Sprays evenly and consistently. Can be used for many other things aside from dishes! Cleaning walls, stains on clothing, carpets just to name a few.

    Stains Be Gone!

    Farming makes our family dirty! The amount of stains we attract to our clothes is crazy. Dawn Powerwash gets even the toughest stains out! Mud on sneakers, sweat, grime, tomato sauce and so much more is never a match for Dawn! Perfect for dirty people like us!

    Great for dishes, but not so much other things

    Normally, I would have given five stars, absolutely. We’ve been using Dawn power wash for quite some time and we love it for dishes, food stains, my husband has even used it on laundry stains. I thought it would be perfect to clean our front door as we live in the country and it’s always got lots of dirt on it and things. As you can see it completely ruined my front door! The door is metal but the red color was professionally painted. Now I’m not sure what to do. I guess I’m going to have to pay someone to come professionally paint it again. I’m very sad and upset about this. So fire beware, be sure to use this on a small test area before spraying it in it’s entirety as it could cause what happened to me. (I’ve tried adding a picture and it will not allow me to.)

    We are sorry to hear about your front door. Dawn Powerwash is great for dishes, laundry stains, and many kitchen surfaces, but it’s not specifically recommended for painted metal doors. Since your door is professionally painted, the product might have affected the paint finish. For future cleaning, it’s best to avoid using Dawn on painted metal surfaces to prevent damage.     More than just a spray

    I've always been a loyal Dawn dish soap user, so when I received Dawn Powerwash as a housewarming gift for my first place, I figured it would just be a convenient version of a product I already loved.     Great stain remover!!

    I love the product when it works, it gets out all sorts of stains and is great for dishes too!! I use it in my utility room for my laundry, but the sprayer stopped working, so I purchased another package with the refill thinking that I could use the sprayer in my refill bottle from the old one that I had. The sprayer doesn't work, so now I have 2 sprayers and 2 refills that I can't use. I just try to pour a little on the stain without making a mess. Can anyone tell me how I can get the sprayer to work?
