Matter Compostable Gallon Bags - 20ct

Terrible bags. They are sealed shut coming out of the box and it's impossible to get them open because the bag just separates from the zipper part when you put the least bit of stress on it. I've torn the last one completely to shreds and still can't get it to unseal.

Just like many reviewers stated, these bags are impossible to open. Horrible seal quality.

Every bag shreds at the top. Tried contacting the company with no response. Don’t waste your money. You can’t even get the bag to open. It just shreds.

These matter compostable gallon bags are perfect for holding a variety of things. This was my first time using these bags and i was very happy with the quality. I love how they are compostable and i will continue buyong these.

These bags are really nice. I was skeptical because I've tried ither sustainable storage bags before and they were always of poor quality. Couldn't even get them to open the seel on the bag without ripping. These are the complete opposite. They are strong, keep my fiid fresh, and naturally compost when discarded.

I am so impressed with these bags! I try to be as eco-friendly as possible, but reusable sandwich bags are the worst! These bags are single use, but won't spend the next 1,000 years in a landfill like plastic baggies do (it's true, look it up). I feel like these bags provide the best of both worlds. Great product!

We love an option that is better for the environment but still functional! I like other reusable bags that you wash but sometimes I have raw chicken or other nastys that I do not want in a reusable container. These are like other name brand zip containers but are compostable! They work just as well.

I like these bags! A great green alternative to traditional plastic bags. I think the closures work just fine and they feel just as thick if not thicker than traditional bags. We have gotten a lot of use out of them!

I received this product in exchange for my honest review. This is something I would have never purchased myself, but after using this I am pleasantly surprised how durable and nice these bags are. I will be purchasing from now on.

These are different than any other composable bags I've tried. For one, they are much thicker, which is really nice. I tried to demonstrate the thickness below with the photos. Typical bags (at least in my experience) are so thin that they sometimes tear before you even get done using them. These haven't done that, at least not while I've been using them. They also come with a press-close top (similar to a sandwich bag), which is really handy (as long as you don't overfill them). You do need to be much more aware how how much you are putting in the bag, because you won't be able to easily seal the bag any other way. The closure itself is pretty sturdy, I didn't have any issues with it. My only other issue is the overall size--we filled these way to fast. But, if you are a smaller family or maybe don't cook as much or something that might not be as much of an issue.

I really want to give these five stars - they are compostable! Made from plants! Work great! Have fun facts about taking care of the planet! Our only issue is that they are opaque - we can’t see what’s inside them!

I'm excited to use these compostable bags rather than using plastic. I compared the size to my standard plastic gallon bags and they are the same. The compostable bags feel different, but are flexible and seem just as sturdy. I put some bread in the bag and compared it to a plastic bag that I also put bread in and I could faintly smell the bread through both bags. There is a note to "be gentle with the seal" of the compostable bag when opening, but I tugged on it a bit and it seems just as sturdy as a plastic bag.

I've had no problems using these. They feel much thinner than regular baggies, but seem to work just as well. I've not noticed any of the contents going bad sooner than expected, so I'm gonna say they work just as well.

These compostable gallon bags are really good. The zipper seems to be reliable, even when held upside down. I love that they are compostable and will breakdown in my compost. I have tore it apart and put in my countertop composter and it has worked well.

I love using these storage bags. They’re easy to seal and the seal is tight, keeping food fresh and safe from freezer burn. I love the fact that they’re compostable, as opposed to other brands that will end up in a landfill.

These bags make you feel good about doing something good for the environment. They are sturdy and I did not feel like they would rip. I like that they have fun facts on them to further remind you that you are making a good choice for the environment. Overall, good quality.

Something very new and different. They work very well. Easy to open and close. They are made from natural materials. You can store several different things in them as you prefer. Great durability. I recommend this product to everyone.

These bags seemed to work just as well as the more traditional plastic zipper storage bags. We typically use the gallon size to marinate meat. The material is a little thicker and has a slightly different texture which actually helped to make the bag not as slick as others. The bag worked great for the marinade and the seal stayed in place so there was not any leakage or excess air.

These bags make a great alternative to regular plastic bags for some uses like leftovers, etc. They’re a bit thinner than other bags, so when using marinades or shaking for breading, you have to be careful not to tear the bag. The only other issue is that my kids didn’t like the opaque bag because it was hard to see what food was in it.

These compostable ziplock bags seem great. They are pretty sturdy which is different than other compostable bags I have used. The ziplock seal stays well. I am not sure how well they break down in the compost so hopefully they do well. These bags will be great in our composting adventures!
