Q: When in my routine would I apply this? Right after I cleanse, or after serums and acids?
A: Hi Lostinlasvegas. Thank you for reaching out to CeraVe regarding the Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Gel. We suggest applying this product after you cleanse your face and before using any serums and moisturizers.
submitted byCerave Product Expert - 1 year agoBrand expertA: Hey, Great question! We recommend to wash your face with your favorite cleanser and then apply the Cerave Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Control Gel in the affected area with a thin layer. Then you can apply your serums and moisturizers after. Salicylic acid can be used with other acids in some cases, but it's important to take precaution. Q: I read salicylic acid and niacinamide should not be used together because they compromise the effectiveness of each other. Instead niacinamide should be applied 30 minutes after salicylic acid. Do you make a similar product without niacinamide?
A: Hello JSD! As CeraVe, we understand your concern about combining salicylic acid and niacinamide. While some studies suggest potential interactions, it's important to note that our CeraVe Salicylic Acid Acne Control Gel is formulated with both ingredients to work synergistically, delivering effective acne treatment without compromising the benefits of either ingredient. Our formula is carefully balanced to minimize potential interactions while maximizing the effectiveness of both actives.
