Description

Philips Avent Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold and easy for small fingers to grasp. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. The Natural bottle is made from polypropylene, a BPA free material, and works with all nipples and caps from the Natural line. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. Includes: 3 4oz Natural bottles with Natural Response nipples, flow 2. SCY900/93

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses 100% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: Can we sterilize the bottle cap by using a sterilizer? What is the material of the bottle cap?

submitted by Kaka - 2 years ago
  • A: So the glass bottles can be sterilized by boiling or using a bottle sterlizer?

submitted byJanel - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello! Yes. After every usage, make sure to thoroughly clean and sterilise all parts of your Philips Avent bottle that come into touch with milk. All parts are cleanable either hand washing or dishwasher use. The bottle pieces can be sterilized in a Philips Avent sterilizer or by boiling them for five minutes. Do not put a cold GLASS bottle into hot water to avoid damage.

Q: On the website it says the bottles are not BPA free. What kind of chemicals and microplastics are released when heated?

submitted by Hi - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello there! The Philips Avent bottles are made of 100% BPA-free material. The bottles are made of polypropylene or polyethersulfone. We take our role in providing high-quality child and baby care products very seriously and we consider the safety of our consumers as our top priority. Philips Avent plastic bottles are safe to use – we ensure this by full compliance with all applicable safety requirements globally and locally. The United States Food and Drug Administration [and European regulations] specifically allow[s] the materials Avent uses in its child and baby feeding products. Philips vigorously follows and closely monitors legislation related to the manufacturing of its products and is not aware of any studies recognized by health authorities that confirm health risks of micro plastics in baby bottles.

Q: What flow number should be used for new born ?

submitted by Awsome - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! For newborns, I recommend starting with a number 1 nipple, which is designed for breastfed babies and allows milk to flow only when the baby actively drinks, similar to breastfeeding. While age is a guidance, we recommend watching your little one’s cues to find the best nipple flow. We designed the nipple range to work for all different of drinking patterns, from fast and enthusiastic to slow and steady. The Natural Response Nipple is available in nipple flows 1 to 5.

Q: I do not have a Philips brand sterilizer and I will not be purchasing one just for this product. Can I just use the microwave steam bag I have to sterilize?

submitted by Breast 2 bottle 2 breast - 4 months ago
  • A: Hello! Yes, you can use the Philips Avent Microwave sterilizer bags to sterilize the parts of the Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle SCY900/93. The microwave sterilizer bag works for all microwaves. Please select the wattage and time according to the table in the manual. Never place the bag on a metal grill. If your microwave does not have a rotating plate turn the bag on its other side half way the cycle.

Horrible

Don’t let these reviews fool you. This bottl sucks and doesn’t work and they don’t mention how the bottle has to be set up just right to be used. And if you don’t set it up just right your poor baby will be trying to drink from a bottle that doesn’t work.

Nothing comes out!

My baby drank this bottle for 15-20 min and almost nothing had come out. I tried this several different times and the same result. I purchase a different sized nipple as well and she still wasn’t able to get anything out! What am I missing here?

Slow nipple can be a yay and nay!

Slow nipple. yay and nay! these bottles are easy to clean and so far no drip or leak accidents when making the bottle. I like that this avent did not have the extra green piece inside to clean. in my opinion baby is gonna have to be hungry, hungry to finish this bottle but it does help with spit up. I like to use this bottle when my baby wants more ounces and feel like he's gonna be overfed (ex when he wants 2 more oz after 4 oz I'll throw it in this bottle after a nuk bottle and he can barely finish an ounce before sleeping). so it's good to not overfeed with but the downfall is if baby needs the full 4 oz then baby may only drink 3 of 4 oz before falling asleep in your arms so then baby is technically not full enough to sleep longer. I wouldn't use this bottle for night feedings because it takes forever.

Great bottles. Flow is great for my little guy. Purchased the flow 1 nipples separately and they were way too slow. Flow 2 (I think comes with this box) has been perfect since birth and still working well. Our little one is 3 months now. Cleaning is easy and no issues with leaking.

My baby has been using this brand since birth! We’ve tried so many different bottles but this one feels the most natural for her! I love that they come in glass as well. You can easily purchase the next size up nipples to change out as they grow! Very easy to clean and the bottle itself is thick and doesn’t feel like it’ll crack open if dropped.

If you’re looking for a low-flow baby bottle, these are perfect! 🍼 I tried other brands with faster flow, and my baby would choke every time. These bottles have been the best by far — smooth, steady flow and no issues at all. Highly recommend!

Oops! Theyre plastic.

The blame is on me this time, not the product. I just assumed these bottles were glass. For health and for the planet, we avoid using plastics with our little ones. Sadly, they’re plastic so I will be returning.

Hit and miss

We used these bottles from around 3 months to 6 months. I would have loved to keep using them, but as my baby got older, he got more frustrated with having to suck and work as hard to get the milk out. We moved up to the highest flow around 4 months and it worked well until now. He started refusing his bottles and drinking less due to how long it took to get the milk out. We switched to another brand and his milk intake has improved significantly. I really did love these bottles for his reflux, though.
