It's a nice matte finish so no shine through out the day. This primer does make my makeup last. My favorite thing about the Smashbox Photo Finish Control Mattifying Primer with Salicylic Acid is that it is vegan and cruelty free.

I tried the Smashbox Photo Finish Control Mattifying Primer and found it to be just okay. I used it in the morning before foundation, and while it felt smooth, lightweight, and applied evenly, it didn't fully deliver on oil control. I have combination skin, and my forehead and chin tend to get oily by midday. With this primer, I actually felt oilier as the day went on. It does have a slight odd scent at first, but it fades quickly. On the plus side, it creates a nice base and my foundation went on smoothly. However, it didn't hold up well throughout the day, so it didn't meet my expectations.

This product is pretty incredible. It kind of reminds me of a balm consistency. Very little scent if any. Goes on super smooth and instantly mattifyies my shiney face. The first day I wore it alone and totally forgot I had anything on. I was still matte at the end of the day. Day 2 I put under my mousse foundation and it worked very well.
