New Panasonic Microwave
Excellent microwave. I hadn’t bought a microwave for a long time. After reading reviews online and comparing brands and models, I settled on this Panasonic which got consistently high ratings for quality, reliability, and of course cooking. I haven’t used it long, less than a month, but I’ve been very impressed with this microwave. It’s a higher wattage (one of the features I was looking for) and certainly heats my food or beverages much faster than my old microwave. So far I’ve been very satisfied with the choice of this Panasonic microwave.

Even cooking, average reliability, more cheaply built then prior years (same model)
I have the exact same model, except it was made in 2015. It has started to stop working after about a week between power cycling. I replaced it with the same model as it still receives the best reviews for even cooking (why haven't other brands caught up by now?!) The door shuts easier on this one due to less spring pressure on the latch. However, the door opening button feels much cheaper on this new one so we'll see if it outlasts the electronics which have historically failed on my past Panasonic microwaves. My wish for 2024 is that a brand with excellent reliability can somehow make the microwave they sell also cook as evenly as the Panasonic. As far as features, I'm not sure if Panasonic has improved the sensor cook or not, it was pretty terrible on my old one despite following their recommendations. I haven't felt like ruining a meal by trying sensor reheat on the new one.

Nice looking, fast, even heating and easy to use. Did have to read the instructions to get started. Selected based on high Consumer’s Report recommendation. I am highly pleased.

Poorly Designed
Clumsy design with a non- functional slide control, stupid icons, and way too high a price for a non-functioning unit. Size and wattage are great. Had to return it as it won’t even start cooking. Needs a lot of work in the design aspect for usability. Display blacks out before I have any chance of responding to why it won’t work. Panasonic should actually perform quality checks before sending their products to a store.
