This is a solid, reliable machine that brews a great cup of fresh coffee. There is only one occasional problem I have noticed. For those complaining that it seems to back up and produce a lot of steam that reduces the coffee output, check the water reservoir for a clog. There is a tiny hole at the bottom of the reservoir where you pour the water that occasionally gets blocked by fragments of unground coffee bean. It's an easy fix with a coat hanger and will save you lots of frustration and unnecessary "de-scaling" effort.

Need A Replacement Pot
I like the bean grinder and coffee maker. However, I broke the pot. Is there a way to get a replacement? The original pot may have had a flaw as the bottom dropped out it when I lightly hit the pot against the sink while scrubbing it.

It’s my Cuisinart Backup
The coffee maker is a backup for my Cuisinart machine so I have no idea when I will put the B&D coffee machine into service!!

black decker washable filter & GRINDING
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's good and makes delicious coffee, but what do I do with a coffee machine like that when I can't find where to buy the Black & Decker Washable Filter & Grinding filter? I threw one away because the filter was damaged and I couldn't find it. I bought a normal one that was much cheaper and didn't have too many problems with the parts. In short, it's crap.

Favorite coffee maker
Had this machine for a few years. Terrific product, grinds perfectly and brews a good cup with the right beans. Had to replace the grinding basket once but it was under warranty and the new one has outlasted the first one. No issues at all with the rest of the coffee maker.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use, easy to brew, easy to grind beans or use ground coffee, and most importantly the bean grinder is built into the filter so all done one simple clean up! Tell that to Cuisinart who are uncaring to the consumer thoughts of washing eight compartments after you've had your coffee. They don't care! I wrote them and stated the design flaws - crickets! I had an issue with my new B&D unit after I returned the Cuisinart unit. The difference in their CS was amazingly wonderful and the have a phone number with live reps! It ended up I had assembled the unit not tight enough at first, it works great with a lot less effort on cleanup! Kuddos B&D!

Great Features assure an excellent pot of coffee
Dear Black & Decker, We recently bought a Black and decker CM5000 12-cup coffeemaker, roughly comparable to the Conair Cuisine model that just broke down after 6-8 years of service. The CM5000 is superior to the Conair cuisine model in several ways. They both grind the coffee just before brewing, and they both have the option to use coffee that is already ground. However, the CM5000 allows the user to set the grind time according to the number of cups that are being brewed. Also, the CM5000 lets the user choose the strength of the coffee. The Conair Cuisine model had neither of these features. Furthermore, the CM5000 keeps track of how long it has been since the brewing cycle finished, so that the user knows how long the coffee has been on the warmer. I use Whole Beans from Eight O' Clock Coffee, and they brew up very nicely, giving a rich smooth flavor on the Strong setting. The only thing that remains to be seen is how long the CM5000 will last.

My nana bought this coffee machine and I instantly fell in love with it! It took me a minute to get used to but once I did, it was very easy to use! I love black and decker products and they're very affordable as well. If you need affordable appliances I would definitely recommend black and decker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seriously, I do love this coffee maker very much. However, I do not like the fact that the grinding/brew basket is quite difficult to clean. I’m used to dumping the grinds, along with the filter, right in my compost bucket. To empty this basket isn’t the same at all! It is hard to empty all of the grounds. In fact, they do not all come out, despite how hard I shake it. Further, to have to clean so many parts on a daily basis is laborious. Nevertheless, the aroma and taste of the coffee with the freshly ground beans is amazing. There is definitely a noticeable difference. Now if I could find somewhere to purchase a second set of parts, I’d be thrilled!

We’ve used this one for 5 years. Despite the hard water problems we have here, it makes great coffee. It wasn’t grinding as well anymore and the price of a new basket is very high. So ... it was time. Working Great.

Perfect for us
Love it! I like that I have the option to use ground or whole beans. It took me a few batches to figure out the right amount of beans/cup for preferred brewed strength, but since have enjoyed perfect cups. The no drip carafe is great after our last coffee maker.

Love fresh ground coffee
Bought to replace my Cuisinart machine that developed a leak. Makes great coffee but would like to purchase an additional 2 in 1 grinder part but they appear to be discontinued- disappointing since I just purchased this week.

Worked* Great....
Bought this coffee maker and loved it. Then one awful morning it didn’t brew, a plastic tab had broken off the reuseable basket/bean holder not allowing the brewer to brew...just needs a replacement brew filter...

Leaks all over counter
I received this machine as a gift a little less than a year ago. Worked great for about 6 months and now I can’t use it without water leaking all over the counter. It’s too bad because the machine makes wonderful coffee otherwise.
