BLACK+DECKER Light �N Easy Compact Steam Iron, IR1020S, Stainless Steel Soleplate, Spray Mist, Anti-Drip, Auto Shutoff

Iron arrived broken, base cracked, obviously a damaged iron resold, box had been previously opened, not packaged at all well for shipping. What should have been convenient and easy was a headache! Now have to deal with return and I don't have an iron!

I like the weight of the iron. The handle is very comfortable. It heats up nicely. The main problem is that the water compartment is dark and it's impossible to see the water level! Why not make the compartment clear?? Also, the opening to fill the water tank is at an awkward position. Please remake this same iron with a clear water container and easier to use water opening. Thanks!

I bought this iron mainly because I didn’t want to spend a ton of money. Mine was horrible. There was no way to close the hole once the water went in. Water splashed all over the quilt too I was ironing. I just have to say that just because someone cannot afford a top of the line appliance does not mean that they should spend good money on crap. Either step up your game on appliances or get out of it. Figure it out Black and Decker because right now I don’t see why I would choose your products again.

I only used one time and so far it exceeded my expectations. Liked the 3 auto shut off features that you can't find in many other with the same price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my old iron, same brand and model, I have had maybe 4 of these iron. I like the light weight of it.

Bought it a month ago, used it about 5 times. Now the auto-shut off keeps kicking in so the iron stops heating. The only way to use it is to unplug it and plug it in again. Then after a minute or less it shuts off again. This seems to be a common complaint, judging from the product Q&A. Black and Decker should discontinue this product and give us a better replacement.

I purchased this product in January 2022. I have used it a few times since purchase and it has performed poorly on each use! As the iron vegans to heat up it makes a loud popping noise, after heating up it shuts off as it is n use and again with the loud popping noise. I purchased it because it Black and Decker is a reputable company and I have previously purchased other products from them and have not had any issues. Very disappointed in this product! The company should refund my purchase price!

The iron was easy to use and the directions were very clear to understand. My items came out looking super. I like the shut off feature and the light weight handling of the product.

Never have any issues, always works as directed. I don’t iron much, so I like the simplest product that can get the job done at the best price. This is it!

My iron heats to max and then light goes off and emits less heat. Same problem as others on the review. Why don't you address this issue online so we can better understand this iron? Is it defective or is this the way it works - red light going on and off every few seconds?

I bought this a few weeks ago to replace the same kind of iron that I liked and that lasted years. I will have to replace this one because the dark plastic makes it very difficult to see the water level. I use a flashlight but even with that it is difficult. This is design over function. The plastic should be a lighter color.

Therefore, I was delighted to try this Light ’N Easy Compact Steam Iron which lived up to the name. Ironing was easy, and the light weight was much appreciated. The teal color is attractive, and the iron appears well built. It has a nice long cord so one can move the iron around the garment without issue. I tried this iron both dry and with steam, on a variety of fabrics from lightweight to heavier/denser, and manmade to natural fibers. It performed well on all. The water reservoir is easy to fill and empty, and because it is clear you can see how much water you have left at all times. The sole plate is coated and glides over fabric with ease. The handle felt very comfortable in my hand. I was surprised how quickly the iron heated up after it was plugged in; it seemed like seconds! I left the room to get more clothes to iron, I was gone probably longer than I thought I would be, and the auto-shutoff came into play. While I was coming back to iron, I think this is a good feature because it’s easy to become distracted with other things and just plain forget you left the iron on. I was surprised to find that it came back up to temperature quickly, so I was able to get on with my task. The spray mist feature is wonderful; it directs a mist of water for those stubborn wrinkles that need a bit more oomph. I found that it worked very well. I would recommend this iron. I have owned and used far heavier and less responsive irons in the past. This Light ’N Easy has the features I need, is easy to use, and the light weight doesn’t leave my hand fatigued when I am done ironing. It's easy and simple to use and the steam feature really works great. It's pretty light too so you dont strain your arms while using it. The color is nice and overall the iron seems like a quality made product. I'm not worried about it breaking anytime soon. I love it and I'll never buy another kind.
