    Broken lid after short usage.

    I have noticed that other customers have suffered a broken lid. Well, we have now joined that sad club. VERY disappointed. Our purchase was March 2025.

    Blade leaks

    Do not buy

    Embarrassing present bought in Oct.2023. Friend didn’t use til Feb. 2024. Noticed she was using different blender Dec.20Apparently leaked a/s/a it started, more if contents were liquid. My inexpensive Oster lasted 16 years. Suggest not to buy, especially after I tested myself

    Broken blending piece l, now leaks

    I use the blender consistently and like it. However, the red blender blade piece has cracked and now leaks when blending so i cannot use it. Was good, now useless and i cannot replace the part.

    Lid flap broken

    One of the flaps on the lid for this blender broke almost immediately after we purchased it about 2 yrs ago. I superglued it back together at that time, but today that flap broke completely and is irrepairable. I cannot find a replacement lid anywhere. It should not have broken in the first place, but I think the construction of these flaps on the lid is very questionable and not durable. We've been disappointed in the fact that the lid doesn't seem to be as sturdy as the rest of the blender.

    Blende does not blend well

    The blender does not like frozen fruit or ice, It will stop and not blend either.

    Heavy glass, quiet strong motor used over 5 times, easy to assemble and clean, however the lid is very hard to get on and the glass is very heavy for some people this would be challenging the very short chord ( maybe 10") isn't great either. But for the price it's very good, 4 stars

    All around champ of a blender

    I am loving this blender! I bought it in Nov 2024 and it's much quieter than my last one, an ancient Hamilton Beach bar blender. I'm stunned that the base is so lightweight considering the power it puts out. The glass jar weighs a ton by comparison. The BL1400DG was purchased mostly to puree soups, which it does spectacularly. I've used the smoothie cup a few times, ingredients are no match for the fun preset "smoothie" button. It pulverizes blueberries, lays waste to mangoes, my ice cubes are the square kind from an ice cube tray, they can escape the vicious blades as they swirl around, it takes a few extra pulses to break them down. The blender hums along. One thing I did learn: When I puree a batch of soup (usually a quart) do it in two batches. The glass jar holds a lot, but some of the veggies just swirl around and don't get pureed as smooth as I would like. If that's the worse thing about this blender, that's nothing. It's a solid choice.

    Burning smell when blending

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this less than a month ago. Used it twice. Worked fine. Recently used it two days ago and I smell smoke while it’s blending. I’m hesitant to use it again due to the smell and risk associated with it malfunction or catching fire. Multiple attempts to upload a picture of the product was unsuccessful.

    Smooth Blender

    I bought this blender this week and have used it once. First of all, it's not that quiet. But it does blend well. I make a pitcher of smoothies every week. It consists of frozen blueberries, bananas, honey, cinnamon, almond milk and Boost nutritional drink. I let the blueberries thaw for about 30 minutes. The blender did its job without any difficulty so I'm satisfied with it.

    Doesn't work

    Skip this one, the only thing I liked was how easy it was to clean but ad far as how it works it is not very good, it takes forever to blend and it's really loud despite it being advertised as a "quiet" blender, I also liked that it was glass none of this matters when it doesn't do what it's suppose too

    Junk blender

    Blender shakes itself off the counter top and the blade assembly leaks! Looked for parts online and found that this blender has discontinued parts and I bought it a week ago?! How is that possible? I will be taking it back to the store and I will be replacing it with a different brand... Very disappointed in you black and decker!

    Bad blade

    On my first attempt to use this product it was really loud very loud to where it's supposed to be a quiet and the blade started to get really hot and melt the plastic on the shaft of the mixing blade
