We advise to had wash the lids and band and to dry completely to prevent rusting. If you are canning, the lids can only be used one time and the bands can be used more if not rusted.

    Glass foodvstorage is the best

    Economical, environmentally-conscious, efficient food storage. Glass containers are the best for storage. You can wash in the dishwasher with high heat and the glass doesn't lend any particles or smells into your food the way plastics can. I only wish there were wide-mouth jars that don't have the constriction at the lid, as that is the place food gets caught when trying to remove it from the jars. I was looking for the wide-mouthed jars and couldn't find them.

    Pay attention

    I ordered wide mouth and was ready to can but upon opening the package, they sent me narrow mouth. My pickles can't wait so I will have to drive to Target, return and hope they have wide mouth in stock...what a hassle.

    Thinner than used to be, lots of bubbles

    The quality of these jars is not consistent with jars I got in previous years. The glass is thinner. There’s a Ton of bubbles. Some jars arrived broken. And the rubber seal on the Lids seems thinner too. I hope this is not the new normal for Ball jars.

    I do miss the old Ball jars.

    I normally have good luck with Ball jars but this time I feel let down. Maybe its just an 'off' batch but still. I pulled them out to prep for pressure canning and after looking them over I noticed some things that make me consider NOT using these in my pressure canner - differences in glass thickness in multiple jars (some have a thick side and a thin side), dimpled/flattened sides (some seem to have smooshed sides- like they are trying to be square jars), ripples in the glass, more air bubbles than normal throughout the glass, and the lids look like they have been used/sealed prior to even being open. some have 'popped' as if sealed as well. Please see pictures for a better idea of what I see.
