    Thinner than used to be, lots of bubbles

    The quality of these jars is not consistent with jars I got in previous years. The glass is thinner. There’s a Ton of bubbles. Some jars arrived broken. And the rubber seal on the Lids seems thinner too. I hope this is not the new normal for Ball jars.

    I do miss the old Ball jars.

    I normally have good luck with Ball jars but this time I feel let down. Maybe its just an 'off' batch but still. I pulled them out to prep for pressure canning and after looking them over I noticed some things that make me consider NOT using these in my pressure canner - differences in glass thickness in multiple jars (some have a thick side and a thin side), dimpled/flattened sides (some seem to have smooshed sides- like they are trying to be square jars), ripples in the glass, more air bubbles than normal throughout the glass, and the lids look like they have been used/sealed prior to even being open. some have 'popped' as if sealed as well. Please see pictures for a better idea of what I see.

    Everyone needs this. Run, don't walk.

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These jars are so convenient. There's so many things you can do with them. For me, I use them for pickling garlic, making overnight oats, and for making fruit water. I don't drink water by itself, so I normally add frozen fruits like raspberries or strawberries to my water. With the 32 oz jars, there's a lot of room to be creative with my fruit choices. Are they fragile? Yes, it's glass. So if you drop it, it'll probably break. But can it withstand transport or being knocked around a bit? Yup! Ball jars are some of my all-time favorites for a reason. They're affordable, convenient, and very versatile in its uses.
