Tiny but mighty
I bought it for my travel trailer. It's small, but It's actually the perfect size for our limited counter space. It makes 8 cubes about every about every 10 minutes. The small reservoir means you're going to have to babysit it. Refilling the water and transferring the basket to the freezer about every hour. But that's fine. Like I said, we don't have a lot of counter space. My only complaint is that the fan is a bit noisy. The compressor and ice scooping mechanism are all quiet, it's just the fan. It's probably fine if you're leaving it in a kitchen and you're in the next room, but for a small travel trailer, it's a bit loud. I removed one star for noise. So far it's been working flawlessly, however I worry about the longevity of the ice scooping mechanism. The cubes/basket aren't gravity fed, it has a motorized scoop that scoops the cubes into the tray. The little hand scoop they give you is worthless. It really needs a ladle type scoop. I don't know about mold yet. I just empty it and dry it out real good and leave the lid open when I'm not using it. I haven't had any mold or rust issues as of yet. I've found it's best to leave some cubes in the tray at all times when it's running. It helps keep it cool and helps keep the cubes from melting as fast. I would almost recommend putting cubes in it when you first turn it on to pre-chill the basket. Yes, I would recommend it if you need a compact ice maker, just be aware of the limitations, you're going to be babysitting it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I purchased this on 9/2024, it started to rust out and I emailed customer support(which is a parent company) they told me there was nothing they could do. Waste of money and I will never buy this item again or from this brand. I also cleaned it monthly with dishwasher cleaner for counter top ones.

I have had this ice maker for under a month. It has already stopped making ice. My last Frigidaire last for four years & I only tossed it bc the mold was growing faster than I could clean. Very disappointed in the quality.

I hate this thing. Our old one (different brand) quit working, and when I saw the price drop on this, I was excited. I should have realized it's because it sucks. You can't fit the scoop in, the ice basket is tiny, you are constantly having to reset buttons. I am just going to go buy another one and give this to Goodwill.

Ice Ice Maybe
So first of all, it makes ice. The only reason for two stars. However, the ice coming out of this thing has been described as pool water in my household. I tend to agree. Furthermore, get ready to clean this thing at least once a week. The mold potential is greater than a hot summer swamp. Additionally, it’s impossible to clean effectively. Not easy to take apart and difficult to get in the tight spaces where that nasty mold is hiding. It’s really a pain to own.
