    Short Lived - Started Leaking

    It worked ok when it worked. I used it maybe 5-6 times throughout 3 years and then it suddenly started leaking and we tried and tried to figure it out.

    Cleans good but it's useful life too short

    Have had this a month short of 2 years. It did a good job of cleaning the carpet but then the hose broke. I feel for the price I paid it should work longer than this without breaking. Use better, stronger parts, I'll pay extra for better quality!

    Quit after two uses

    I have only used this cleaner twice and already it has stopped dispensing the water. So now if I need to use it, I have to dump the water on the floor and then suck it up. 😡

    Another broken hose

    Purchased this product because my older dog was having bladder issues. Like others have stated after less than 20 uses the hose broke at the handle. However with some duct tape I was able to keep using. Now after sitting idle for several months and the water won’t spray out making it useless. I have had other Hoover products that have lasted 10-20 years so I was surprised with the poor quality of this product. I would not recommend this product.

    Horrible

    Good to Bad

    I’ve now had my Hoover CleanSlate for four years. At around 3 years old the hose split open, like others have reported. I was able to fix it up with duct tape and retain most of the suction needed to extract dirty water. This could have been avoided in the design by simply lengthening the hose so that it’s not pulled so tight when wrapped around the unit for storage. At 4 years, the electrical components are malfunctioning and flipping my GFCI outlets. Unsafe. I wouldn’t have bought this knowing it would only last 4 years.

    I’ve used this cleaner approximately 10 times, the hose broke within the first 5 or 6 uses. We ended up taping it and it worked well like that, now the machine won’t spray water. For the price, I’m very disappointed in how the product has held up. I believe I needed original proof of purchase which I unfortunately don't have as it was a gift, so I couldn’t claim it under warranty.

    Fill tank cap plunger seal missing!

    Purchased new and the solution tank cap is missing the plunger seal! After filling, and turning it over, the solution just pours out because there is no seal to stop it. Make a huge mess every time. Thanks Hoover

    Buy something else

    Bought this to replace my shark carpet cleaner and there is a huge difference in quality between the two. The handles are made of cheap plastic, and kept popping off every couple of seconds when I used it. It does what its supposed to do, but performance and quality wise it sucks. Hoover needs to go back and redesign their product that keeps the handle from detaching from the hose.

    I have owned this machine for quite some time. I don't use it as much as I would like due to the hose length being so short and the upholstery tool being so large. I would like to be able to clean the inside of my vehicle with it but the upholstery tool is too large to get into the spaces I need to clean the most.Also, it doesn't make cleaning furniture very easy again due to the awkward sized head and the short hose. It has been very frustrating.

    Really really really bad

    Hands down this is the worst appliance I have ever used in my life. The suction is horrible. I would have done a better job just using Folex and a towel.

    Love it so far!

    This little thing has saved me with having two puppies, and it cleans carpet spots so much better than my standup shampooer. We’ll see how it holds up over time, but so far it’s been absolutely amazing.

    How would I know it was leaking when it was working if I didn’t use it?

    I bought this machine for my carpet cleaning, but it kept leaking water from the water tank while I was cleaning, and I have video and pictures to prove it.
