Q: Will others around you be able to hear what you are listening to?
submitted by Amk - 2 years ago
A: Everyone around you can hear what you’re listening to
submitted byNever Again - 2 years ago
A: Just got these and tested this out. When using my iPhone and putting the volume at 75% or higher, others around you can hear what you are listening to very clearly. If volume is around 30-50% you can hear it but not as clearly or as loud.
submitted byMB - 2 years ago
A: Hi Amk, great question, no these keep the audio directed straight into your ear canals, and there is next to no sound leakage when these are in your ears.

Q: Does it have a button to pause the media that's playing on the headphones? Is it touch sensitive or an actual button you click?
submitted by Surah - 2 years ago
A: It's touch sensitive but not a real button that clicks. It's honestly a little bit finicky. You can change what the touch controls do in the mobile app.

Great question, the Flex do not come with a charging cable! There should be charge on the device when it comes out of the box, or it can charge via any of your other USB-C cables!

Q: Can I use as hearing aid these to help me hear better around me
submitted by Lito89 - 3 months ago
A: Hi Lito89, great question! The short answer, is no the Flex have no amplification abilities. They, in fact, allow you to hear things around you, while still hearing music. More of an awareness thing, than amplification abilities.
I hope that helps!

Brand expert
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about JLab Flex True Wireless Bluetooth Open-Ear Earbuds.
👉 No — JLab Flex open‑ear earbuds are NOT hearing aids and won’t really improve hearing like one.
🎧 What these earbuds actually do
They are open‑ear audio earbuds
Designed to:
Play music
Let you still hear the environment (so you stay aware)
👉 They don’t amplify sound the same way hearing aids do
❌ Why they don’t work as hearing aids
1. No proper sound amplification
Hearing aids:
Boost specific frequencies based on hearing loss
JLab earbuds:
Just play audio normally
👉 They don’t “enhance” speech or filter noise
2. No speech clarity processing
Real hearing aids:
Focus on voices
Reduce background noise
These:
Do NOT filter or improve speech clarity
3. No medical tuning
Hearing aids are:
Calibrated to your ears/hearing profile
These:
One-size-fits-all
⚠️ What they can do (limited)
You might use them in a basic way:
Play audio louder from your phone (like a “listening aid” app)
Slightly boost volume if you’re struggling
👉 But:
❗ It’s very basic
❗ Not reliable or clear
❗ Can actually sound worse in noisy environments

These earbuds offer a unique open-ear design that provides comfort and allows guests to enjoy their surroundings while listening to music. Many guests appreciate the sound quality and lightweight feel, making them ideal for everyday use. However, some have experienced connectivity issues and sensitivity with touch controls. Overall, they are a great choice for those seeking affordable and comfortable audio solutions without compromising on sound quality.

Buttons too sensitive, activated by moving head around
I move my head in any direction and somehow the earbuds register my movement as me tapping the buttton causing it to skip ahead, pause, and/or change the volume to really loud or soft. Extremely frustrating especially when I’m wearing gardening gloves and it’s harder to mess with the earbuds or my phone. And the other kicker is that when I do attempt to use the buttons, it’s lagging or hard to tap in the exact right spot. I don’t have long hair, hats don’t change anything. I wish I could disable the buttons, I rather just manually use my phone to adjust everything than have to press (and it’s quicker) They are one of the most comfortable open-ear earbuds I’ve worn. Fit wise it’s a good size. The sound quality is good for the earbud type. It’s hard to tell how charged the case is. It would be a five star product if I could disable the buttons on the earbuds so there isn’t unwanted volume change, pausing, or skipping.

Starts/repeats
I love that they stay better than in-the-ear earbuds. The only problem is position: the moment I turn my head, the song, etc. either repeats or goes to the next part.

So great I bought a second pair!
My gf hates in ear buds so I got her a pair of these a year or so ago and she loves them. I tried them once and loved them so much I purchased a pair that night. I saw this recent sale and had to get a second pair. Love these buds!!!

THE BEST EVER
I was really skeptical about the sound, even with the other reviews. But let me tell you SOMETHING, these ear buds are the best! The sound is impeccable AND the buds do not fall off my ear. I have started running stairs as part of my workout routine and they don't budge. They are so lightweight, that I forget that I have them on. You will not go wrong with these!
