Found what is no longer available!
Lack of good, available, rye bread forced me to try to make my own. I do not possess the strength, any longer, to process the dough by hand. So I decided, for my 80th birthday, to purchase a refurbished stand mixer from KitchenAid. I can have crispy thick crust and chewy inside seeded Rye bread, on my counter whenever I want. Since receiving the machine I make a loaf every 5-6 days and have also made pizza. Next I will try making pasta.

Very Under Powered Model
Unfortunately this model is very under powered! It appears to be built with a very low power motor and low gauge wire as the plug is 16awg. I have only made 3 things with this model and it has bogged down trying to mix very small amounts of dough or batter.

Easy peasy, I'm a baker again!
OK, I was a baker in the Navy, where I had a humongous Hobart mixer bolted to the deck. Made some great products, including treats for the crew. Now, decades later, I'm retired, and my health isn't so good anymore. Kneading a couple loaves of bread wears me out! This KitchenAid enables me to bake three or four times a week, almost effortlessly. Three loaves of bread at once? There's no strain on the mixer, or on me! I could make four, but the last loaf will go stale before we eat it. A double batch of cookies? No sweat, this mixer handles them just fine. I was unsure WHICH KitchenAid mixer I wanted, I think I finally settled on the perfect one for me. This is big enough to handle anything and everything I might want to make. As I understand it, this is the replacement for the older Pro 600 model. 6 quart is plenty large enough, the larger models seem to be more suitable for a restaurant or other business. It's important to mention that my wife and other family members like my new found productivity. They line up to get a share of whatever I happen to be mixing! This mixer is a big win for everyone!

Love my purchase!
I’ve always wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer. Been using a cheaper brand for years because I never wanted to spend the money on the KitchenAid. I bought a refurbished one for over half the original price and I love it. Everything I hoped it would be. Does all the work on its own. Looking forward to learning more baking recipes.

I absolutely love this mixer!!!
This is just the best mixer I have ever owned! Having the lift stand versus the tilt head is a game changer. It fits under my cabinets better than the tilt head, and is so easy to access and use. The refurbished mixers are much more affordable, but still look and work like new. I love the 6 quart bowl because I bake a lot and it makes it so easy to make larger batches of bread or desserts!

Game-Changer for Bread Bakers!
Upgrading from the classic 5-quart Artisan tilt-head mixer to the KitchenAid 6-quart bowl-lift model (RKSM60 series) exceeds every expectation. It's perfect for kneading larger batches of bread and pizza dough without issues, making a noticeable difference in performance. The larger capacity—from 5 quarts to 6—allows handling 8-8.5 pounds of flour for multiple loaves or big pizza nights, eliminating the need to split recipes or risk overflow. The stainless steel bowl is spacious and durable, locking securely with the bowl-lift mechanism for rock-solid stability. No more mixer "walking" or head bouncing during heavy dough sessions, unlike the old tilt-head design. The power boost (around 500W effective) outperforms the 325W in the Artisan, kneading stiff doughs smoothly without straining or overheating. It's quieter with the newer design, and the spiral dough hook develops gluten effectively. Existing attachments transfer seamlessly, cleanup is easy with included coated tools, and the hefty build ensures longevity. For those seeking more dough capacity, this is the ideal choice—powerful for serious baking without excess like the 7-quart. Highly recommended; 10/10!

Large capacity
I bought this in November for my son and he absolutely loves it. The size was a big factor when I purchased as he needed the larger capacity. Hoping he gets as much use out of it as I have with mine. He likes the height adjustment feature.

No regrets
I bought this almost two months aga and it has been one of the best decisions of my life when it comes to a kitchen appliance. I had a low budget, and I was expecting it not to be the best mixer given that it was refurbished, but I was wrong. It looked just like any other bran new kitchen aid mixer. No difference at all! I have ben using it constantly lately, from making cakes, mashed potatoes, shredding chicken, to making bread. Dont hesitate to buy one!

Worth Every Penny
I have had this mixer for a few months now. I absolutely love it. If you are on the fence about getting one due to the price, just know it is worth every penny. I love to bake, but my wrists can't handle mixing or even holding a mixer for very long. Now I'm back to baking for my family and friends again. Also this big one is over kill for most people. But if you plan on doing any meat processing (with other attachments), then this is the one to pick. This one has a bigger motor and can handle the work easier.
