They do not have to be connected to a special receiver. They require a wired connection between them for power since one rear speaker requires AC power...^Ivan.

Next, insert the other end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI IN" (or "HDMI ARC") port on the projector. Hate it

Decent with the right settings
So initially I thought maybe something was wrong with it especially since I have it running through my TCL TV. It would power on and my TV would recognize it however no sound. Then after pressing random buttons on the remote it started working then stopped the next day. An internet deep dive suggested that it may have a glitch and to unplug the HDMI arc from the TV, shut down both my sound bar and TV, and restart. After doing that it works like a champ and so far so good. As far as the setting because I do not have an LG TV the settings to configure have to be played with kind of at random but once you fine the correct one for your set up this system sounds amazing. I have been impressed so far and it sounds better than my previous VIZIO sound bar set up for my home theater.

So sleek and easy to install!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product was so easy to install all by myself, just a simple plug into the TV and into an outlet and it was up and running. I bought this to watch and listen closely to the Olympics and cheer on team USA, it helped significantly catch all the olympians stories and made the watch parties so enjoyable! It is also so sleek and looks very modern and not too bulky around my TV and on my console.

Works great for small space, you won't regret it

Great and LOUD
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the third and nicest sound bar in my life and it does not disappoint. I love hosting and having ample sound was my biggest concern. Therefore, I wanted to invest in something bigger, more bass, and more sound overall. The setup is simple and on par with other sound bars in the market. I have included the subwoofers in the photo as an extra but usually they are behind the couch. Highly recommend it for the audio enthusiast. Not Wireless!!
Product is not wireless! The rear speakers require a wire (supplied) to run between them. Which basically defeats most wireless applications. Making it useless to me. I’ll be making another trip to the store to return it!

It says 420 watts! WHERE? There's NO bass at all.
Very disappointed to say the least so thankfully I still have my Vizio sound bar that I bought probably two and a half 3 years ago but it's weird because it has less power but sounds so much better than this LG sound bar system. The only thing that would make me buy a different sound bar now is to have a very decent powered subwoofer because the one that came with this LG system is horrible. I received this as a gift so it's hard to complain about something that was given to you but this is just false advertisement reading the information on the box it just sounds like basic bookshelf speakers and has about as much bass as bookshelf speakers so I will be putting my Vizio surround system back in tomorrow

Spend your money elsewhere.
Not a great experience. Cutting in and out and really not good sound for $300+. That may be a cheap soundbar but I get way better sound out of my 3.1 Samsung soundbar that is three years old.

Good product

Using the remote to set up the desired sound takes some work switching through menus but this is easily averted using the LG Soundbar app on any mobile device. Bass itself is a little less than anticipated especially after trying to make it bass heavy for action movies. However when listening to it at medium to high volumes it still comes through and the overall sound is still great.
