The Series 9 Pro Plus 9517s shaver provides a close to the skin shave like a traditional razor blade would. Going into the shave with more than a couple of days growth is not recommended. The sliding trimmer attachment on the backside is a bit tough to navigate considering it does not stick above the head of the shaver. I prefer to be able to see the trimmer as opposed to guessing where it might line up. If you’re shaving daily or every other day routinely, seeking a close shave, this is a fantastic shaver for just that.

Better Than Expected!
I have been on the fence about this shaver for a while. Despite the bad reviews, I finally decided to order it. When it arrived, I immediately charged it up for use. My beard was day 2 from a standard electric shaver. As stated in other reviews this razor is a bit loud, but not overwhelming. The shave was closer than I expected. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase. I'm just not looking forward to spending the 70 dollars to replace the head.

The shave is incredibly close and precise. It’s easy to use, gentle and doesn’t cause any razor burns. The charging stand is great and convenient. Would highly recommend this electric shaver for anyone.

Not your dad's old electric razor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little apprehensive receiving this razor to review but was quite surprised with its performance. I'm 43 and in my 20s I tried electric razors and it was never a good experience but this one pits them to shame!!! It's a close comfortable shave (wet or dry). I had no irritation at all either way. Charging is super fast and since it stores on the charger it is always ready to go.. Great product for anyone looking foe an electric razor!!!

Poor execution
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the packaging and thought this product would be great but there were multiple issues with it. First of all, the manual inside the box was a generic manual and had additional parts descriptions which were not included in this product's box. Secondly, it was unclear how to properly use this item so after checking online, I was able to use it but it took a really long time to get the desired result. It was a very time consuming and tedious job so I won't be using or recommending this product to anyone.

Ash, we're so sorry to hear about your experience using your Series 9 Pro. The manual is for all of our Series 9 Pro models, and some of those models have additional features and attachments. Sorry for the confusion. As for the quality of your shave, it may take a few weeks for your skin to adjust to the new shaver. If you aren't doing so already, taut the skin, hold the shaver at a right angle, and shave against the grain. I have sensitive skin, when I shave I get bumps and irritated, but with this trimmer it was super fast and easy. It comes with a case so is super easy you take it with you during traveling, didn’t have any problems with the battery and loved the skin guard.

Not bad but not for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second foil trimmer and it seems that they just arent made for my type of facial hair. I tried to use it for a touch up in between shaves and it didnt cut at all. The only saving grace is the precision trimmer which is actually fairly good.

Please hold the shaver at a right angel, taut the skin, and shave against the grain making sure you don't apply too much pressure to your skin. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll start off with I have very think facial hair; I have tried various electric shavers over the years, and the one common theme is that they always “pull”, so I’ve always gone back to a razor. I figured I would try out the Braun Series 9, and I have to say I was not expecting to be this impressed. Not only does it not pull, I’m able to get all of the hair in no more than 2 passes. Being an electric shaver it will certainly not get as close as a blade, but it absolutely gets close enough to forego the blade, comfortably. The series 9 is definitely pricey - but would absolutely recommend it for anyone in the market.

First electric shaver to work for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generally, i love the idea of electric shavers but they have always been a disappointment. Usually they dont do much except irritate the skin. That all changes with.this shaver! I was almost completely clean cut without using anything but the foil portion of the shaver. The trimmer piece got the stubborn hairs on my neck. Completely smooth with no blade. The pivoting head did wonders to keep a contour to my face and neck while maintaining a close cut. Game changer and its the first shaver I would actuallyrecommend. The only thing.that would make it better is if it had the clean and charge station but honestly cleanup was pretty easy.
