Q: i'm curious why this can't be used on neck, shoulders, back or hips for pain. i bought it for that, but it says on the box that it can't be used on these areas. i'll have to return it.

A: I have used this for 10 years, 2%, was perscription only at one time. I have never seen any sores. The limit to the use, about 2" can be used on any joint and back. Confirm w Dr; every 2- 4 hours.

Q: this is an nsaid. i am not supposed to take nsaids orrally such as advil motrin etc.... since this is a topical is it okay or not?? like an nsaid is an nsaid is an nsaid period?? Don;t know what to do

A: I am not a doctor, but am in the same boat as you. For me, the issue is NSAIDs can cause stomach bleeding, and I have colitis which when flaring can cause bleeding in the digestive tract. So to not risk setting anything off down there, my doctors have told me for years to avoid oral NSAIDs, but topical are ok. So the entire reason I use products like this is to avoid the oral version.

Q: I have used this for ten years and six months exactly. I was in high speed crash caused by street racers. I started using it in 2013. I broke my neck and both shoulders. Horrific. But I can lie detector test to prove how much it helps.

Voltaren - reduces deep, achy pain
I first started using Voltaren years ago when it was prescription by a rheumatologist to help with my osteoarthritis. And now I’m able to buy it over-the-counter. Most recently I bought some for my daughter who has significant pain in her foot from years of walking in heels, it’s difficult for her to sleep due to the pain. A small squeeze of Voltaren gently spread onto the surface of the skin over the painful joint or arthritic area is very soothing. Always use a cotton pad. Otherwise your fingers will feel the numbness as well. The medication will begin working within 20 to 30 minutes. Especially helpful to apply just before going to sleep for the night. Allow it to dry before getting under the blanket. As it begins to work and the pain lets up, it’s nice to drift off to sleep. You may have to reapply several hours later, but at least you can get some good rest pain-free for a while. As always, follow the directions and check with your doctor. I’m so grateful that this is available without prescription now.

Painkillers in pill form gave me a mild, General reduction in pain whereas this product could be applied directly to the painful site and was a lot more effective especially for tiny areas like my knuckles. I tore my Achilles about 10 years ago and every once in a while when I walk a lot, I do a lot of activity. I start to get some pain, and visible inflammation on my Achilles. a light massage voltaren Makes all the difference in the world! Please note if you have an open wound, do not put this on there.
