Q: Why is my ice cream texture like soup even after 30+ minutes of having it on? Left the bowl in the freezer overnight and we have tried it twice and both times the texture is runny like soup.

submitted by Kiki - 1 year ago
  • A: What ingredients are you using? You have to use heavy cream. You can't use regular milk or almond milk. It's not thick enough. That's why its not thick, if that's what you're using.

False start

Thinking it was self-explanatory I added all the mix then turned the machine on. Instant death. Had to thaw the ice container to remove the mix and let the machine set over night. Tried again the next day after reading the instructions. Made a yummy strawberry ice cream.

Great product that is easy to use.

I have made ice cream several times with this since I've bought it each time the ice cream has turned out great with no problems. This ice cream maker is easy to use, and all warnings are clearly labeled. It even came with some ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt recipes that taste great.

Fast and easy ice cream freezer

Amazingly fast freeze! You can put in the freezer to harden up, but you can also eat it just out of the initial freeze.

Delicious homemade ice cream!

If you’re trying to reduce the amount of “preservatives and artificial ingredients” in your foods, this is an excellent choice. Most store bought ice creams do not even have real cream/milk. This product makes real ice cream in minutes and is so tasty! Just make sure your read the directions first cause it’s not just pour and go, there is a little prep work first.

Easy to Use

It took a bit of trial and error, but now that I've used it a few times, I am quite pleased. I like that we are able to get a soft serve any time we want, or put it in the freezer for later. I am pleased that we can choose the ingredients that we add. It's kind of fun to experiment with different flavors. Cleanup is simple and quick.

Just just it. Pieces are all miss sized. Won't fit together at all. Completely unusable.

So fast and easy!

I am so excited to find out how quickly I can make ice cream now! The chilling canister now has a permanent home in my freezer so I can whip up a batch whenever the mood strikes. I just make and chill the custard, then pour it in and turn it on. 20 minutes later it is ready to eat like soft serve or ready for a longer chill in the freezer. Love it!

Fun Way to Make Great Ice Cream

I am a diabetic and REALLY love ice cream. Most Zero sugar, or NSA Ice cream you buy in a store are terrible and have a bad after taste. I decided to try this Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker after seeing several recipes for Sugar-Free ice cream. I have made both Chocolate and Strawberry ice cream and love them! My spouse loves it too even though she can eat regular ice cream. It's a lot of fun to make and even better to eat!

Wonderful ice cream maker

This is a wonderful, simple ice cream maker compared with the old units that needed use and rock salt. Just place the container in the deep freezer, mix the ingredients and turn it on. There are literally three parts besides the motor base, so nothing to go wrong. Our first 3 batches of dark chocolate, homegrown strawberry, and vanilla were wonderful and we know exactly what ingredients are included, unlike the “ice cream” you buy at the store with the scary ingredient list.

Ice cream maker

The Cuisinart ice cream maker is sooo easy to use! As someone with food allergies, I find that I can't eat most brands of ice cream. With this appliance, I can make high-quality ice cream (no corn syrup!!!) in a snap.
