Q: Has anyone tried making non-dairy ice cream with this?

submitted by Great curtains - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes. I have to use regular canned coconut milk because it's thick & the ice cream will get thick.

submitted byGoochie - 1 year ago
  • A: Yes I made pineapple sherbet. It came out great.

    submitted byAna A - 8 months ago

Q: Why is my ice cream texture like soup even after 30+ minutes of having it on? Left the bowl in the freezer overnight and we have tried it twice and both times the texture is runny like soup.

submitted by Kiki - 1 year ago
  • A: What ingredients are you using? You have to use heavy cream. You can't use regular milk or almond milk. It's not thick enough. That's why its not thick, if that's what you're using.

submitted by Mamabear - 5 months ago
  • A: Yes, the Cuisinart Mix It In Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker (ICE-48) is specifically designed to make soft-serve, yogurt, sorbet, and gelato in about 20–30 minutes. It features a dispensing handle, topping containers, and produces a creamy, soft-serve consistency directly into bowls or cones.

    Works Amazing!

I put the bowl in the freezer the night before and then use it in the afternoon. The first thing I made was banana ice cream and it was absolutely delicious. It takes about 20 minutes to get soft-serve consistency. I tried separating my ice cream mix into two different rounds and run it one right after the other and that doesn't work real well for the second one. Try not to overfill it because the ice cream grows as it freezes. I absolutely love it and have tried 3 different flavors so far. I would definitely recommend it!

    Ice Cream in 20 mins!

I bought this in an effort to control the ingredients and to take advantage of fresh summer fruits. Wow! This machine does a great job, simply. Very few parts to contend with, simple design, delicious dessert in a few minutes. I keep the bowl in the freezer for whenever anyone wants ice cream. It’s easy to clean and store.

Love it !! Great for lactose free ice cream

I love ice cream but dairy doesn’t love me. I started purchasing sorbet but the flavor selection was limited and it was so expensive. I bought this to start making sorbet at home and my first attempt was a mixed berry with frozen berries and it was so delicious. Then I tried coconut ice cream, and loved that too. I started searching for recipes for ice cream using lactose free milk and lactose free cream. I found a lot. This machine is so easy to use and convenient. I’m really glad I decided to give it a try. It’s a far less expensive way to enjoy ice cream again and to customize it for the lactose free alternative.

    Exactly What We Needed

It paid for itself on the first use when compared to the price of taking a large family out for premium ice cream. I had been waiting and researching exactly what I wanted. I originally thought I'd go for the Ninja Creami, but I'd only recommend that if you are trying to make frozen drinks or get intense with your mix ins. For quick and delicious homemade ice cream, this is all you need. It makes ice cream fast as long as your mix is cooled in the fridge and your bowl is frozen. Some people are brave enough to combine their mix ingredients inside the bowl. I am too frugal and like ice cream too much to risk ruining that mix and having to wait another day for ice cream ;p If you are looking for a machine to make creamy ice cream fast, buy this one.

    Surprisingly Simple

My daughter got one last year and said it was surprisingly simple and created great icecream if you use quality ingredients. I had a Amz gift cert, so bought one for myself. I love ice creams of all sorts and I was very impressed with a simple chocolate recipe that came out way better than I expected for my first batch. Even cut out 3/4 of the sugar to use sweetener and it was fine. Nice and creamy. Ultra rich chocolate. Anxious to try another like a vanilla with chocolate fudge swirled in or chocolate chip. The machine is clearly simple to use, simple freeze the bowl, follow directions for the recipe, tweak as desired within reason, turn it on and watch it magically turn into ice cream. Freeze to firm up and enjoy. Also simple to wash up after. Just don’t overfill!
