Umbra 13gal Brim Step Trash Can

I bought mine five years ago because the description touted it having a soft-close lid. This was true for about a year. What they don’t tell you is that it squeaks obnoxiously when you use the pedal to open it. It would have been tough to return it due to the pandemic. And it does need non-skid footing as it does slide when stepping on the pedal.

The day after buying it when the lid fully opens it falls back slightly and doesn't close. What the point in having a step peddle if you have the still grab the lid to close it?

Gorgeous design and color !!! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the lid is not removable, cleaning a non removable trash can lid is a headache; hence I returned it.

Garbage can came with plastic parts broken leading to the foot pedal not opening the lid. Broken off plastic pieces at the bottom of the box.

Beautiful & spacious.However it skids when pedal is pressed. We added self adhesive anti skid pads underneath to solve the problem

Item is a decent product but would be better if it opened a full 90degrees.

I bought this and the color of the top of garbage can and the bottom are different. The top is bronze but the bottom is brown.

I bought it to replace my stainless steel one and am just as disappointed. It's lid doesn't open all the way and stay open, the rim inside is great in theory, but it should clip into the lid so you aren't having to juggle when changing the trash. Then it seems next to impossible to get a bag in. So it's a lot of struggling to change the trash

The trash can does not last, its made of cheap plastic. The lid came broken and now the stepper that opens the lid will not raise the lid all the way up completely. Target won’t let me return this or get a replacement. Why would Target sell an item that won’t last?

Glad I bought this, the step to open and slow close features are very nice. Looks better than a regular garbage can.

This is just what we needed for the cottage. The bronze color looks really nice and it's the perfect size for our space. We needed something larger and this has made things much more convenient. The soft-close and step pedal is a super nice feature. The material is also easy to clean and super durable.

Très belle et grande poubelle. Elle est jolie et design. On peut s'assurer que le sac reste bien en place avec un rebord prévu à cet effet. Le couvercle s'ouvre aisément avec la main ou la pédale et il se ferme doucement sans faire de bruit. Il est aussi possible de laisser le couvercle en position complètement ouverte au besoin. Je suis très satisfaite de cet achat. Merci Umbra!

I've had this trash can for over 5 yrs. It held up good the most frustrating thing or me is the brim and putting the bag on there because it's a wide mouth. I use 13g bags members mark and they fit snug and don't fall down which i like. I, repeat, finally broke the mechanism to open it by step. I'm not sure if this one listed is the one where the lid will stay open but that's the version i have now. It certainly comes in handy. The manufacturer provides a 5 yr warranty and are responsive on there website for questions. The link to contact them is listed on the website. Even though my lid isn't attached anymore i'll be keeping it for a spare outside. It's not some thin cheap plastic either, it's well built imo. I didn't pay $40 for this at that time, it was certainly cheaper.

Bought it to replace another trash can...while I like the step option (something lacking in my previous can), it pushes the can back everytime (and due to the shape/weight of the can, it ends up shoved against the wall, learning forward) Additionally, when putting in a trash bag, I have to adjust the bag as to not catch the interior levers on the lid (otherwise it won't shut completely) Also, the step occassionally creaks/groans Wish I'd bought a higher quality can

Love these kind of cans, easy to put garbage bags in and out, does the job!

The design was changed. You can now no longer keep the lid open to change the bag or to leave it open when you need it open. I do not recommend they should go back to their previous design instead of skimping.

It was purchased for a library room in the home with a lot of dark oak shelves and furnishings as well as a lot of books. It fits right in.

Great and sleek looking trashcan, for an affordable price.

The can is nice, but the soft close "feature" doesn't let the lid close. It stops a few inches short. With or without the bag in. How can I fix?
