Good air cleaner for the money, poor Google setup
We have owned two of these for about 3 years now. On their own as an air purifier, they work well. Resetting after changing the HEPA filter requires pushing a reset button with a paper clip into a small hole, so that's pretty quick and easy as well The filters are easy to get, the pre-filter is easy to wash and the black carbon filter we change every 3 months as suggested by Winix. I like the fact that I can use the Linux app for adjusting settings and checking on the air cleaner even when we're away. What I don't like is the fact that after a power outage, the Wi-Fi connection with Google home seems to screw up, you have to remove the air cleaner from Google home and add it again to fix this. This is poor programming, and Winix should fix this oversight in my opinion! I don't bother hooking it up to Google again anymore. It's just too much of a pain in the butt as we can get several power outages a year in our area. I contacted support and there was no other solutions for this at the time!

Defective straight out of the box
You would expect a refurbished product to have been tested before shipping out, but it arrived completely non-functional. Now I get to spend time printing return labels, re-boxing, visiting a UPS store, and waiting until they get around to "receive and verfiy" it before getting a refund for the piece of junk that was sent to me.

The best air purifier we have used
I received this product over a month ago and he absolutely love it. Our area is quite dusty, so I saw a huge change in our air quality when we started using this product.. I have two kids and one of them has asthma so this is definitely a product that is very important to us. I can’t recommend this enough.

I purchased 2 C545 air purifers from your company at the end of 2024 but I am disappointed in the overall quality. One of the motors from one of the air purifiers is broken and I cannot use it anymore. I spent good money and was hoping that this would last more than one year. I will not purchase another device from your company again. Disappointed customer, Michael

Perfect for price point
This purifier is perfect given it's price. It does an amazing job removing particles and cleaning the air.. I keep mine on high...sometimes medium. The motor and quality are good. Getting 2 years of use for this price is worth it. If you expect a purifier at this price to last years and years then you'll be disappointed. Longer lasting purifiers are around $300-$500 range. It's like paying for McDonald's and expecting a gourmet burger. I've had mine 3 years and no issue. It's a great purifier.

Works well, quiet, a bit flimsy
We own four C-545s in our house and it has become our go-to purifier. It's exceptionally quiet but does a good job of removing dust and especially pet dander and pet hair. The mesh screen pre-filter catches most of the dust meaning we don't have to replace the carbon pre-filter as often. The biggest problem is the clips that hold the front panel in place. They have broken on 3 of our 4 units, meaning the front door hangs off awkwardly. The units still work but we need to use tape to hold the front door in place. Winix should invest in higher-quality clips that don't break so easily!

Dissapointed shopper
Product appeared to be used! Box was sealed however upon unpacking one of the filters was open and cord was unwrapped. Disappointed in Target that they would not have noted that instead of passing it off as new. If it was a floor model they should have noted it was a floor model!

Purifiers will work fine until around the 2yr mark then the fan motors will peter out and the unit is useless this is a major issue for me on two units I have purchased! sucks spending this kind of money for 2yrs of usage . I will be shopping for another brand

5 year old C545 still going strong
I have had this model for over 5 years. Never had any of the issues others have claimed. Regularly replaced filters, cleaned the unit, and took care to not break pieces off of it. The auto setting is nice as it only spins the up when it detects bad air quality so most its operating time is spent in quiet mode. Even at night if the fan is on a higher speed it isn't loud enough to disturb sleep. I have a golden retriever and two cats so this unit has been tested against some of the worst dander and particles you can have in a home. The washable prefilter is good as it catches a lot of pet hair and larger particles to keep the Hepa filter and Charcoal filters life span longer. Just requires regular cleaning so the fan performance isn't affected. Definitely recommend for a bedroom or office or apartment.

Why the noise?
I bought this a couple years ago and it was perfect in our bedroom. Ran 24/7 on speed 3 nice and quiet. All of a sudden just last week it woke me up with and rattling/clunking noise. Not real loud but noticeable. I think it is the motor because when I switch speeds the noise changes too. I expected many more years of QUIET service. I have serviced it regularly and kept it clean.

High Pitched Whine - Poor User Experience
Loud. And I don't mean the sound of airflow. As is typical of many Winix air purifiers, there is a high pitched bearing whine on the higher speeds. This is awful and drives us nuts. To make matters worse, the first several speeds are all virtually the same with little variation in actual speed. To actually get some cleaning done, you need to use the highest speed - and then you get the screaming bearing whine. Also, the C545 units have a design flaw where the clips which fasten the front cover into place are easily broken simply by putting the cover back on. You need to always look from above to make sure that the peg on the cover is going between the two clips, and not to the side of the clips, otherwise they will get snapped off. This makes cleaning the filters more fun. Also, the buttons on the front are impossible to read as they don't have any coloring, so the unit is rather awkward to use. Another complaint, the app is extremely aggressive with sending you ads and spam, and you cannot disable them. If you don't use the app for a period of a few weeks, you will be punished by having all of your air purifiers de-registered from your Winix account, and the only way to get them working with the app again is to do a complete factory reset and register them from scratch. I do not believe that Winix is a company that respects their customers or has any great concerns about putting out quality products.
