Q: Hi I was wondering if I could use the lid without the filter part?

submitted by - 1 year ago
  • A: Don’t spend that much money on a pitcher if you aren’t gunna use the filter lol

submitted bySH - 10 months ago
  • A: Hi Samanth, Thanks for your question. The lid is engineered to work with the filter housing, which is how it securely attaches to the pitcher. Without the filter, the lid won’t fit snugly on the carafe and may come loose during pouring. For safety and optimal performance, we recommend using the lid as designed, with the filter in place.

Q: Can I use this on a faucet that produces water with rust and other sediment/minerals?

submitted by LKL - 2 years ago
  • A: Is this 10 cup a glass pitcher as well?

submitted byHandy - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi, Yes, LifeStraw Home filters can help reduce rust in water. Rust is typically caused by iron particles, and the LifeStraw Home filter uses advanced filtration technology, including activated carbon and a membrane microfilter, to remove contaminants like rust, dirt, and sediments, along with bacteria, parasites, and microplastics. However, if the water contains a high concentration of iron, resulting in heavy rust, the filter might need more frequent replacements to maintain its effectiveness.. I have attached a "compare" chart that is posted on our website so you may see what it removes. https://lifestraw.com/pages/compare I hope this helps answer your question!

Q: Is the filtered water exposed to the air, or does the spout keep it from the outside environment?

submitted by sophieoril - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi, Thanks for your question. For the LifeStraw Home 10 cup pitcher, the filtered water is exposed to air once it collects in the lower reservoir. The pitcher is not fully sealed, so the spout does not block outside air from the filtered water compartment. Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

Q: I just bought this and cannot put in the bottom filter. It says to pull down and twist the bottom cap of the filter to remove but I have nothing to grip it with. Are there any tricks to open it or do I just not have the strength??

submitted by Southbay5 - 3 months ago
  • A: Hello, Thank you for your question. We have found that if you take the housing, turn it upside down (with the carbon cap facing away from you), then push the carbon cap away from the housing with your two thumbs, it will come off. The first few times can be tight. There should be a small divot along the seam.

    Plastic pitcher cracks

I’ve had some issues. The quality of the filter holds up- as far as I’m concerned. However, I’ve had 2- plastic filters crack/leak. The first one was almost immediately. The second time, was a few months in. The filter though- has to be primed or in action at least every 2-3 weeks, so if you are not home for weeks at a time, this filter is not for you:…trying to bring a dried out filter back to life is tough.

    Fabulous!

This is a game changer. After walking through the set up, we ‘taste tested’ the water compared to tap and the filtered from our fridge. You could definitely taste the difference! The pitcher, to my surprise, is a bit heavy, especially when full of water, so that’s the only ‘issue’ as I get used to that when pouring water.

    Great Investment

Bought this to add to our travel trailer on top of the filter at the hose connection. Way more inexpensive than buying some elaborate system to filter water for the trailer on top of that water taste was fantastic and wife being picky about the water in the trailer pipe not being sanitary even she loved it. Can’t say how much I would highly recommend this pitcher.

    Pitcher

I’m actually highly upset, I was led to believe that I bought a glass pitcher and that’s what was so good about this besides the filtration system. I received a plastic water pitcher that I have been giving to my toddler for a month now while I was trying to avoid micro plastics and I just realized that it was supposed to be glass so yes, I am a little upset about it and it would be very nice if I could receive a glass picture free of charge because I feel like it was a little bit of false advertisement. Thank you.

    Happy Customer!

Very happy with the taste of the water. Ordered another pitcher because we use the water for our cooking and for our pets too. Glad it filters out more harmful substances than other water company filters on the market. Haven’t used our other products as of yet.

Good pitcher , a bit heavy when full

I like the pitcher. It is tall but it does fit in my refrigerator with careful placement. When you fill it completely which takes 2 + fills of the inner, it is kind of heavy to pour. Maybe the 7 cup would be better for most people since it would be lighter and a little shorter so it fits in the fridge a little easier.

    Looks great water tastes good

Pours a little slow for those who may struggle with the weight of the water and the pace at which it flows. Still in my first month, I keep it on the counter and it’s good. No complaints. For one person it’s just right

    Awesome!

I had a Brita filter for years and I never felt that it truly filtered my water. This has been a game changer. My water tastes fresh and we use an ice maker and coffee machine at home and using my filtered water definitely makes it taste better!

    Best drinking water ever

We purchased the 10 cup water jug from Lifestraw after our refrigerator water filtration system stopped working. The taste of the Lifestraw water is amazing! The jug is easy to refill and I love the fact that the filter will last a whole year.

    Love, love, love it!

Our house is on a well and we have a lot of iron in the water. We have a water softener system that we rely on to clear out the iron but the result is that the water tastes kind of briny. This filter makes the water delicious!! My husband and I drink so much more water because of this pitcher. I love the design, the color, how easy it is to fill. It’s the best!

    LifeStraw 10 cup Review

The LifeStraw 10 cup pitcher has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. The way it filters polluted water into clean water is very impressive. It has been a great investment allowing me to spend less on plastic water bottles as well. Overall, the LifeStraw 10 cup pitcher is very good product and one I recommend to any of my peers.

    The Best

I live on well water and have not really had any concern about the taste of my water, but I do worry that I may be ingesting things not so great for me. Until using the Life Straw filter pitcher, I didn’t even realize there was any taste to my well water. The water that comes from my new Life Straw pitcher is so pure tasting that the only way I’ve been able to describe it to my friends and family is “empty”. 🤣 The fact that the membrane filter last a year is amazing compared to any other filter pitcher, making it also more cost effective. 1000% would purchase again, have recommended friends and family purchase. Only gripe I have is that I wish there was a glass 10 cup available when I purchased.

    Such a taste difference!

It’s heavy, love the sturdy base I ordered to keep it steady and my husband happily takes charge of keeping it refilled! It takes two hands for me but we are loving the improved taste of our well water!
