    Blue hair tragedy

    This product gave my (unprocessed) hair a really unfortunate blue tint, which is NOT the chic silver I was going for. Extremely bummed esp at this price

    I look like I have shoe polish on my hair

    I was curious about this product. I have some grays, but not ready to commit to permanent hair color. I figure the Color Was would be a good way to dip my toes. I went to the Madison Reed shop on the upper west side because I wasn't sure which shade I should go for. My hair is really dark brown, so I figured Espresso Yourself would be good for me. The rep at the shop told me to go for Velvelt Black (maybe because that's the shade they had in stock and wanted the sale?). Anyway, I got home. Followed instructions. And now my hair looks like it's covered in shoe polish. Not dimensionality. No luster. I can't wait for this to fade. It is awful!

    Not pleased

    Not sure if I did something wrong but this does not work for me. I wanted to add a little depth and the women at the shop said it would do that. It did not. No depth. Trying to wash it out now.

    Color in color

    Love the shade love the shade it becomes, somewhat reddish because I specifically use to color gray. I'm trying to transition to Demi because I'm losing a lot of hair and grateful for clean ingredients. Color seems to last a bit longer than even salon brand.

    It's okay… i feel like it doesn't stay i've tried it three times now and my grays come out by the next week. Not sure if i'm doing something wrong or if it's the demi permanent. I don't have many grays i would say about 6-10. Will give it another try and then decide if i continue. Also the color seems a bit darker than I expected.

    Great color but doesn't last

    I loved it initially. The color is perfect. The color did not stick to the grey hair near my ear. The color began fading within 2 weeks. I only wash my hair twice a week, so this seems strange. I have been coloring my hair for 25 years, both at a salon, and at home.

    Not for brunettes

    Does not impact brown hair at all. Now my hair just smells like paint. Do not buy if you are not blonde or a ginger already.

    Great color!

    Great color matching so close to my natural hair. Not too dark and able to blend it in well with my grays. I definitely hope this can be made in a permanent color!

    Red is barely showing through

    I barely see red and I followed directions to a T. I had lighter brown hair to start with but I definitely thought I would see more of a change than I do.

    Bombshell!

    It is fantastic! Went on quickly. Covered gray mush more than expected. Nearly full coverage. My hair has a new refreshed color and it was simple. Can't wait to see how long it will last but honestly it's worth it for a refresh if you're in a hurry. I will definitely start using this as part of my routine. I cycle through permanent, root service and now Color Wonder.

    Color = ok; cost = meh; smell = nope

    Started with level 9 to 7.5 bleached and toned long, wavy, fine but thick, super porous (sinks to the bottom of a water glass) hair. Prior to the bleach I'd been dying it copper for 2 years. The front where the level 9 pieces are turned a dusty mauve. The rest of the hair turned out copper with a slightly pink hue. I actually mostly like it even though it turned out almost nothing like the virtual result, but it wasn't worth the super high price, and I can't get past the smell. The product stunk like an ashtray. So does my hair even after using their supplied shampoo and conditioner. I want to wash it again, but I know every wash = less color. When I do wash it, I'm going to use Keracolor's Rose Gold Clenditioner to try and keep it as vibrant as possible. My advice: if you can get past the smell, make sure you're applying to virgin light blonde hair or level 9/10 bleached hair (all over) to get to close to what's advertised. Otherwise, you'll need up with mixed results like I did.

    Very red

    The product went on easily and my hair is soft. The color is not a reddish brown. It is more of a dark burgundy color on my dark brown hair.

    Ordered by mistake - ended up loving it

    I ordered this shade by mistake, and had already applied it to my hair when I noticed it looked redder than usual. I looked up 7C and saw that I had ordered "That's So Fire". Slight panic, then I washed and dried it, and I loved it! I'm reordering this shade for next time too!
