A: The internet isn't required to run the device. When you get ine, you can unbox it, plug it in until fully charged, then press "clean", and it will! All without having connected to the internet.

Awful App Limits Usefullness
The app is horrendous. I was warned about this before buying it, but figured it couldn’t be that bad and I didn’t need a fancy app anyway. The app constantly logs you out and forces you to sign in when you’d like to have the robot clean. It also will disconnect the robot very frequently so you will have to go through repairing the robot and remapping the house which is very inconvenient when you’re needing the robot to clean but have to waste time on this process. Without the app, the robot wonders aimlessly rather than moving from room to room if you tell it to vacuum by just pushing the buttons. The constant repairing process interferes with convenience and it’s often far more practical to just sweep the house. The robot vacuums decently when the app isn’t screwing up, but most of my home is hard floor. It barely cleans over carpet and doesn’t do well around the edges of the home, so I typically will have to sweep around the edges anyway.

Why does it climb everything?!
So sad. I am so upset with this purchase, the sensors are not working properly I am assuming because it tries to climb everything, inlcuding fans, it eats all the cords even though they are properly bundled & out of the way, it is even eating shoes. What is happening?

I loved this for the first couple of months but now will not dock properly and keeps giving me error messages. It also doesn’t get baseboards and corners. I am returning it. Just bought a new full size Shark.

Terrible machine
Does not have good suction and will not pick up dog hair on carpet. After having it for a year and a half it will not clean my whole house as mapped. I have reset it several times and remapped our house and still not cleaning the whole house. Will clean only part of a room and then start recharging when it has 90% battery life left. Not worth the money at all, I would NOT recommend the Shark Matrix.

Not worth the price
We got it on sale which is nice I wouldn’t have bought it for $500. It works okay it doesn’t do a good job on corners. It’s very loud and easily gets its brush stuck on things. I usually have to pick up the floor in order to run a cycle although they advertise you don’t need to. Definitely not worth $500 I can do a better job just hand vacuuming and get it done much faster.

Ok. But wouldn't buy another Shark robot
I have had mine for 15 months. Seems to work OK but now I am having major issues with connectivity. Tried deleting the robot on the app and adding a new one and it will not connect. I can only use it manually using the buttons on the robot. I cannot use the app any longer. Be sure you clean the filters and empty the garbage bin frequently. If not if will smell bad. Especially if you’re using this for pet hair.

Mine died after six months and the comapny admitted it has a 'software flaw.' They expect you to pay $20.95 for shipping despite selling you a defective product.

Do not recommend
Worked ok for 18 months then it started having issues with the battery. Called support and they said there was something wrong with the robot itself. It’s out of warranty so they couldn’t do anything.

Does a great job with pet hair and on hard wood floors. I have one room with carpet and it works alright on there, does better with regular floors like tile, hardwood, and laminate. Will get stuck on things, like any other robot vacuum does. Always goes on sale so the price can come down. I love this and use it all the time. I love that you cans start it from the app when you are not home as well and that it self empties.

awful
so sorry I switched from the other major robot. The shark gets stuck on bathroom rugs, dog toys and shoes. It also is strong enough to pull anything with a cord off a table. It gets lost frequently and the app loses the login password and the map at least once every couple of months.

I have hardwood floors throughout the house. I have one husky and two cats. I run the vacuum once a day. This vacuum clogs all the time. And, the brushroll does not self-clean. I have to clean it off, constantly. I'd say it's no different than a regular brushroll, which sucks because I bought this one for the self cleaning roll. I was tired of cleaning it off all the time, but I still have to clean it off all the time and unclog the vacuum too. Prolly works better if you don't have pets.

Constant issues
90% of the time I wake up and the vacuum is stopped with an error. Either runs out of battery and never makes it back which doesn’t finish the cleaning, or brush roll is stuck when nothing is in it, or bumper is stuck when it’s not. Nearly every single day this doesn’t complete the cycle. I’ve had it 4 months and of course it’s out of warranty. Don’t waste your money this sucks
