Q: Was the formula changed? The tube I received was chunky, blue, and separated. It wouldn’t mix. I returned and was sent a new tube- this tube was also the same. I won’t be purchasing again. A waste of money for what used to be an amazing product.

  • A: It separates when it is too cold, if I get this shipped during the winter it does this. It actually says on the product do not expose the product to temperatures below 5°C or 41°F . So in colder months I just buy it at the store and it has been fine for me.

  • A: Separation is extremely common. I does not mean it's bad. Just let it sit in a cup of hot water for a few minutes before massaging it to remix. Once remixed, it will stay that way.

Q: When opened for the first time, is it normal for there to be liquid separated from the cream? The one I received had about a teaspoon of liquid coming out of the tube before the actual cream.

    Avene Cicalfate Restorative cream

    I bought this to use following my Profex and halo laser treatment that I had today. I was supposed to use it tomorrow the day after my procedure. The tube is pure water. There is no signed of the cream. I’ve mixed it. I’ve warmed The tube, but it is just pure liquid. Now I cannot follow my doctors recommendation and I have nothing at home to replace it waste of money.

    Finally decided to tried it

    I finally tried this product. I was weary because of some the ingredients, although it has the NEA seal compared to a similar product that does not. It smells a little like fresh coconut water to me. Sometimes it takes a little bit to dry down while leaving a white cast. I'm almost through my first tube. On the fence if I'll repurchase or not.

    Love This Product

    I’ve been using this stuff for about a year now, and I can honestly say it’s amazing. I’ve struggled with acne my entire life, and this has worked wonders as an extra step over my acne treatments, especially when my skin barrier is damaged, dry, or irritated and red. I genuinely recommend this stuff! It also leaves my skin with such a beautiful, glowy after-effect. It does take a little bit of time to fully rub in, but it’s SO worth it. Please, please, please don’t ever change the ingredients. It’s absolutely perfect just the way it is!

    Avène supports Breast Cancer patients

    I received this cream as a donations in a Hope Kit for Breast Cancer patients. It is outstanding for use on my radiation damaged skin. I love how it doesn't disappear yet isn’t messy.     Mineral oil cream

    This is a hard no for me. I ordered based on derm’s recommendation to help with restoring the skin barrier during the early stages of trentinoin usage. Good thing I read the ingredients before I put it on my skin. Contains mineral oil(cancer causing) and other types of heavy comedogenic oils. You’d think with the ridiculous price tag you’d be getting a high quality ingredient product. But no such luck

    Spring Water continues to leak out

    I just opened a new package of the Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream and large amount of blue water kept draining out. I am able to get the cream out but the blue water continues to flow after 5-6 uses. Not sure if I am getting the full benefit of this product if the spring water that is a key ingredient is just draining out and not mixing with the cream. After reading the reviews it appears that there are others that have encountered this same issue.

    A bottle of Magic

    My skin barrier broke. My face was burning, red, and really dry. I was recommended to give this a try, and it did wonders for me. My skin is slowly healing, and this product made a difference. My skin type is acne prone and I am sensitive to most skin products. Trying this out was scary at first, however my skin accepted it easily.

    Follow-up on My Product Complaint

    Hello, I submitted a complaint 10 days ago regarding an issue with this cream. A large amount of light blue liquid is leaking from inside the product. I was informed that I would receive a response within 2–3 business days, but I have still not received any update.     A Cream That Actually Works

    After menopause, my dry skin broke out with several ultra dry patches. I tried everything. While things temporarily moisturized, nothing helped the dry patches go away. Until now. I use this twice a day and by the end of the second week I noticed the patches feeling like normal skin. This stuff really works!

    Not for texture

    I find that the occlusives, primarily the vegetable oil, clog my pores, congest my skin, and create or amplify any bumps on my face. Aquaphor or Vaseline would probably work better for my skin and are much more cost effective.
