Purchased this mixer a couple of years ago and maybe my expectations were too high but unfortunately I'm disappointed with it. I frequently cook and bake and my silver chef mixer (1950s, got it at a yardsale) gave up the ghost and I needed something to replace it. So I got this with high hopes. It's huge and powerful but the bowl seems too deep for a lot of the things I make and I have to contantly stop it to use a spatula to mix. With my sliver chef I was able to use the spatula while it was running but you can't really do that with this; you have sto stop it each time. If I don't use a spatula, the ingredients don't get mixed at the bottom of the bowl because the implement doesn't reach it. Also, the implements are not dishwasher safe and aren't even stainless steel! They're aluminum :-( I read online that you can get replacement parts that are stainless steel but I haven't been able to find them. I got a nice kitchenaid cover on etsy and the unit stays covered looking pretty but rarely used since it's such a pain and time consuming to clean. I'm now buying a Hamilton Beech handmixer with stainless steel implements that are dishwasher safe so I can make things like cakes, and quiche again.
