A: That's a great question! Thanks for choosing us! While the thermometer is off, press and hold the Power/Measure button for about 3 seconds. You will see a flashing F° or C° and hear a short beep. Inaccurate junk
I have this thermometer in my daughter’s diaper bag medicine bag. Well she had been fussy all day so I decided to take her temp while at a friends house. My daughter is 9 weeks old so I took it rectally to get the most accurate reading. Well first time I took it it read 100.4 so of course I freaked out with that being the start of a fever. With her being under 3 months it’s very important to know if she has a fever. So I took it again and it read 98.5 took it one more time to see and it said 99.6 all very different readings. I was ready to take her to the ER. However both my husband and my babies nurse said to wait until we got home feed her and then check her temperature with a different thermometer. I did that and about 45 minutes after we got home I took her temp with a different thermometer and it read 99.1 I took it with a different thermometer just to make sure and it read 98.9 both of the other thermometers said her temperature is normal but yet this one was all over the place and had my first time mom brain freaking the fudge out thinking my baby was sick. If I could I would give 0 starts. I know most thermometers have negative reviews however I have yet to use one who’s readings are constantly all over the place. At least the others stay around what they say the first time. Fevers are serious in little babies get with it. Safety first more like safety last.

Dangerously Inaccurate.
Zero stars. Dangerously inaccurate. This thermometer should be pulled from shelves. Two consecutive readings within seconds of each other: First reading: 97.8 Second reading: 99.7 Both seemed inaccurate. The baby was burning up. I pulled out my trusty old thermometer. The reading was 102.

Immediately returning.
Took my temperature once when I took it out of the box and it immediately died. On the back of the box it says it has a lifelong battery. Obviously not.

One-bar battery upon arrival
Picked up this thermometer today. Pulled the battery tab and took my temperature. The battery has one bar worth of charge. So much for the “Includes 1 2032” replaceable long-life battery” statement on the back of the box. Am not able to unscrew the back to replace the battery—which I should not have to do. This item is going back to the store. And that’s the last thing a person wants to do when they are sick—another trip to the store. And if there is a phone number for Safety 1st on the box, good luck finding it. It’s not on the back of the thermometer.

Inaccurate
Not very accurate. My baby just got home from the NICU so we had to take his temp often to make sure he’s regulating his body temp correctly. This one is consistently giving false low readings, which has added unnecessary stress to our lives. I don’t recommend.

Absolute Junk
This showed our four day old newborns rectal temp as 94.5. This lead to a panicked ER trip, a blood draw for a four day our little one, and about five years off our lives via stress. Had this thermometer simply done it's job, this would have all been avoided. Spend extra money and get something that isn't complete junk. This brand should be ashamed. DO NOT BUY

Not accurate
This thermometer did not provide an accurate reading. I bought 2 thermometers, this one and the frida baby 3 in 1. The frida was accurate compared to the thermometer at urgent care, and this one was too low by a whole degree. It's so important to have an accurate thermometer, especially in the first 3 months of your baby's life. I would not recommend this one.

Don't bother
Thermometer was inaccurate and a waste of time & money. Readings were off by nearly a full degree, causing us to unnecessarily bring our infant to the dr's office.

I’ve owned this thermometer for years to use with my older kids, and recently bought a new one for my newborn (because sometimes new babies need their temps taken in “other places”). I love the chart on the back listing which temperature is considered a fever depending on where the thermometer was used (orally, underarm, or rectally). It’s always been accurate and gives the result very quickly

Terrible!
I purchased this 2 days ago. After first use, the battery indicated it was low. Today I purchased brand new batteries and even after replacement it still shows the low battery symbol. How terrible for a product to be unreliable. The picture attached is from after the brand new battery was installed.

Love this Thermometer
I have used many thermometers in my time working in daycare centers, schools and as a parent. I have used it about 3 times and i feel that I am always getting a correct reading. I love the big display and the aqua color is cute! You can't beat a 6 second reading on an infant! Put the plastic cover on and through it in the diaper bag. Very happy with this product.
