Lots of hair breakage and very loud
I bought the epilator with the basic attachments because I have a new Philips electric shaver that doesn't give me a close shave already and I didn't want more plastic waste. I have done a lot of laser and electrolysis, so the hair on my legs and other parts of my body are pretty sparse, but I have enough of the fine and in-between fine and coarse hairs left that I thought I could benefit from an epilator. I find this epilator easy to hold and to clean, but I don't love that it breaks off a lot of my hair. Moving as slowly as I can and using the low setting, hair still breaks off and I'm never completely smooth. I'll keep trying to figure out how to make it work better for me, but this is frustrating. It's also very loud, and either the sound or the vibrations make my cat very jumpy, even if I'm in another room with the door closed while I'm using it. I'm a bit concerned that it is damaging her hearing so I find myself not pulling it out often for touch-ups (she looks like she's seen war when I open the door to let her back in).

Comfort & Convenience
Great value, the quality you expect from Philips. It actually hurts less than the cheap metal tweezer versions - sometimes I don't even feel it. I can't use it under my nose yet though as that is still too painful. Charge lasts a long time and the light is useful for showing up ALL the hairs! Even works on breast/nipple hairs!

I wish I used this years ago !
I have to say that every time I use this shaver and all it does I feel a little cheated as to why it did not come along sooner as it has so many useful functions as well as it's simplicity to use and maintain. Add to that fast charging and great run time I was so pleased I bought spares and sundries to make it the full ticket , spot on from Phillips great features and superb design .

Love it, works a treat. After my previous epilator 'died' I had purchased a really cheap one on-line only to find it pulled off some of my skin and was quite dangerous. After much research, purchased my current Phillips one and couldn't be happier. Better than my original one and no painful injuries now.

Great start, big letdown
I really enjoyed using this epilator at the beginning, especially on dry skin—it worked smoothly and gave consistent results. However, when I tried using it on wet skin, the performance changed noticeably. It didn’t feel as effective or reliable, and at times I wasn’t even sure if it was actually working. The experience is exactly the same when i used my shaved on wet skin, it lacks the same consistency and precision I first noticed on dry skin. Feel like i wasted my money

Not the best.
I really thought I wanted to like this product but I tried it once it got rid of some hairs but not all of the hairs and of course I still have to use the rest of the other heads I just was disappointed it didn't get all of my underarm hair and only got some while it being rough on my skin because the gears were moving to fast so when I put it on and used it for a bit my skin got raw a bit and hurt to the touch so I'm quite disappointed but I shouldn't be surprised. I just wanted to finally get rid of all my underarm hair but unfortunately this product couldn't do the job but getting it all offm

Not the best.
The curve of the epilator head is NOT helpful for all people, you struggle to reach certain points, and the "Protective" cap meant for sensitive areas is positioned so far away from the blades in the curve that you actually just cant get into the areas you need to. Ive noticed it also snaps finer hairs or misses them completely. And forget using it in the shower, it does not glide on wet skin and wont pick up the hairs that are wet/plastered down with moisture. Wet hair = breakage. Also terrified to use it downstairs because its so loud and violent, I'd like to keep my flaps, thanks.

A New Fave
I've always used Braun and never strayed from it. Their products are now ridiculously priced with attachments I don't need so I went on a hunt and found a simple model that suited my needs. I may now be a convert. I like how the the contoured head helps with manoeuvring over any area and makes it less painful. Have only used it dry, and will need to try it under running water.

Solid option with room for improvement
I recently switched from an older Braun Silk Epil 7. I'm ok with the product but there's room for improvement. I've been using it for about three months. Pros: The Philips epilator is lightweight and ergonomic, making it really comfortable to hold and maneuver. The epilation head is wider compared to the Braun, which helps cover more surface area and epilate more quickly. It's not too painful, at least for legs. Cons: One downside how noisy it is. It’s definitely louder than I expected and than the Braun. The build quality doesn't look as sturdy or premium. It feels a little less durable, and I’m not sure how it will hold up over time. The LED light, while helpful, is positioned at an awkward angle. It doesn’t provide much lighting. Depending on how much it's priced where you are, it may be a good choice. If looking for quality, I think I'd go for Brain next time.

Don't waste your time
Tried 2 Epilator Series 8000 models and both have the same fault, do not hold the charge and stop working after less than a min. The next trip to the retailer will be to get a full refund.

Caused me to break out
I like Philips' products. But this did not work for me on my upper lip and chin. I broke out. I rarely have acne or the like. I used the delicate area cap attachment. Followed instructions. 75° angle. I have a magnifying mirror and I still saw many hairs, it seems like the epilator just broke the hairs and didn't pull from the root. I will* say that the remaining "stubble" did feel smoother afterwards than if I would have used my electric trimmer. But because of the breakout, I am returning this and resorting to waxing.

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad you enjoy Philips products, and we’re sorry to hear that the Philips Wet & Dry epilator Series 8000 BRE700/04 didn’t meet your expectations. For optimal results, we recommend epilating on clean, dry skin. Taking a warm shower beforehand can open up pores, making hair removal smoother. Make sure your skin is either completely dry or fully wet to help the epilator grip hairs consistently. When epilating, try to move slowly and against the direction of hair growth, keeping the head at a 75° angle in full contact with your skin. Stretching the skin gently can also help the epilator remove hair more effectively. Additionally, checking that the epilator head is clean before each use is crucial; rinse it under running water and wash with mild soap, ensuring all soap residue is gone before reattaching once dry. For smoother results, a gentle exfoliation routine can prevent ingrown hairs—try exfoliating with a peeling lotion or the included nylon peeling glove a day before epilating. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

Hassle free shaving
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love this product as I am allergic too waxing and this is my best bet to get rid of that unwanted hair. I love how comfortable it is for regular use and is very handy to carry.you should definitely try it if you too hate waxing or if you allergic to waxing.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I can use this on the go and finish my hair removal effortlessly, with no pain at all. It's super easy to clean, and I usually prefer the dry option, which is quiet and efficient.

Overall a good epilator
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This was my first time ever using an epilator and it was an interesting experience. Since I had never used one before, I didnt know what to expect. The epilator itself is very easy to use, the different heads go on to the device with ease and its simple to power on and off so there is not much of a learning curve. When I ran it over my leg hairs it did successfully take out a majority of them, some were not grabbed by the machine head since they were probably too short. Im interested to see how long my hair takes to grow in those areas since Im a very hairy person. If it takes 4 weeks to pop up again Ill be very impressed! I will say I did not like the sensation of the epilator plucking out the hair. Its not the worst thing in the world but it feels like a bunch of mini tweezers plucking out your hair at once so it is a little painful. As a shaving girly I will probably stick to shaving for the convenience and ease of it but if this epilator keeps my hair away for longer, I will be using it from time to time.

BEST EPILATOR FOR THE WHOLE FAM!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The best way to treat unwated hairs. Ever since becoming a mom I barely have time for myself and going out to get waxed. Its a hassle for me not to mention how expensive it is thankfully Phillips came up with this.
