I like that it has its own app and can also be controlled in the nanit app. I love that you can pick from a range of colors but it was difficult to get the color I wanted (what I selected on the screen was not what showed up on the sound machine-color was off), but eventually I figured it out. I like that I could set times to turn the sound and colors on/off at a specific time. It was one less thing to remember while having a newborn. Overall, very happy with the product.

Design over function
The Nanit Sound + Light is great for a 'smart' sound machine, but does have a learning curve to it and you should be mindful of who's going to be using this device. Like other modern 'smart' devices, sometimes these things prioritize design over function. As a result, easily accessible physical buttons are lacking and control is based on using the app, and your pre-emptively learning how to use the 1-second, 2-second, etc. touches to the top the unit. My wife and I had to read the instructions clearly and practice using the machine. Unfortunately, there is little likelihood that grandparents are going to get comfortable with either the app or touch-sensitive buttons, so they rely on us to turn it on and off for them. Otherwise, great sound and light, fun to use, but one of those things that I wish the designers prioritized ease of use more -- especially for a user-group who's likely already committing some hands and attention to babies, bottles, diapers, etc.

Great product!
I have been using my sound and light machine every night. Its a great, easy tonise product. With all the night time feedings, the adjustable light makes it easy to see what I’m doing while keeping it dark enough to get my baby easily back to sleep. The different sound options are great too for added comfort. I have my machine to automatically start playing at a certain time to help me keep on track of bedtume routines.

Basic. Interface shared with camera app is horrible. The dedicated app never worked. If you want a cheap looking lamp with a clock your are on the right track.

This is a great sound machine. There’s a wide variety of sounds and it’s nice to be able to change the settings via phone. There’s definitely room for improvement but none are deal breakers (if you have a favorited setting of light and noise, you can’t adjust either on the sound machine itself; if you turn on the nightlight, you can’t adjust the sound level without turning off the nightlight; and when you’re changing the sound or light level on the app, it immediately jumps to the sound as you’re trying to change it - versus being able to type in the level and it doesn’t tell you what level you’re on as you’re changing it)

Nanit Changed Our Lives
We purchased the Nanit Baby Monitor and Sound + Light Machine before our baby Felix was born and it absolutely changed our lives. Now we can monitor our baby sleep, naps, control the sounds that he hears and the brightness and color of his light from the palm of our hand. We can monitor as much or as little as we want from anywhere since the app is so easy to use and all you need is internet of any kind. Connects from afar
I live being able to control the light from a distance. When I am away and I see someone is in the room with my daughter I can turn on the light and change the colors to let her know I’m there.
