I bought three of these, one for each kid and within six months all three have stopped working and will not charge or turn on. Oral B was not helpful at all when I tried contacting them.

MOLD - this has a huge design flaw where even when you change the head, mold grows almost immediately. Way too expensive to just be throwing away.

All of our products go through extensive testing to ensure their quality and performance, and this is not the experience that we would like you to have. Since mold requires organic material to grow, this can sometimes happen if there is toothpaste residue left over after brushing or if the brush is stored somewhere it is accessible to bacteria. To help prevent this in the future, we would recommend thoroughly rinsing the brush while it is still running, then turning the brush off, removing the head from the base, and drying it with a towel. After towel drying you should then let the brush head fully air dry before placing it back on the brush. I really like electronic toothbrushes, but it’s pretty annoying how you can’t tell how much battery the toothbrush has. You will literally be brushing your teeth and the battery just runs out of nowhere. Also, if you don’t take the toothbrush apart every few days it starts to smell.

disgusting mold build up in brush head

Absolutely horrible, do NOT recommend!! My child has only been using this toothbrush for a month and I noticed black water draining out of it. I pulled the head off and found this disgusting black mold/toothpaste residue. I called customer service and they told me some cleaning recommendations like use water to clean the head after every use? I tried a Q TIP and couldn't get it out! I took a picture of my oral B head that I've been using for 5 months (not rechargeable) and there is nothing in it! how is this OK? I expect more from P&G! I guess it's ok for children to use moldy brush heads?!

Even with rinsing after each use, toothpaste can harden over time, creating a chalky coating that may appear black, brown, orange, pink, or grey on the metal shaft, rubber parts, and charger. While it is very rare, mold on a toothbrush can occur if the brush is stored in a location that is exposed to mold and bacteria, or if the plastic comes into contact with corrosive substances (e.g., cleaning agents, sprays, cosmetics, soaps, etc.). However, there is nothing in the actual brush head that can grow mold. Certain ingredients in these products can make the plastic porous, allowing dirt and moisture to settle. The main issue is that I discovered mold in the hole of the toothbrush head attachment. Even after changing the head, the mold issue came back again so I threw it away. It also has a bad battery life.

If I could give Oral-B electric toothbrushes zero stars, I would! We bought two brushes, and one of them stopped working within a month. We had to contact Oral-B for a refund, wait for a return label, and then send it back to them. I am still waiting on my refund, which has been a huge waste of time. Our other toothbrush stopped charging last night, so it lasted only 1.5 months. I contacted Oral-B again, and this is their response: "Our 60-day money-back guarantee is limited to one refund per name, household, or address. We can, however, assist with the process of sending the brush to one of our service centers to get it back in working order." So, we can't get a refund for our second toothbrush since their 60-day policy only allows for one return per address! This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Two toothbrushes stopped charging within 1.5 month! I will never purchase from Oral-B again!

Purchased 3 for my children. There is a huge design flaw where water can enter into the brush head attachment and mold grow inside of it. These should be recalled. It’s disgusting.

3 year old torture device?

This is not a terrible brush, but is of no use to me. I bought it for a 3 year old, they are not typically bothered by noise, they don’t have any strange aversions, etc. but they absolutely hate this brush and cry that it’s too loud. We’ve had it over a week… the crying has faded but they shudder when I say it’s fine to brush their teeth and this brush appears. They have a different brush (which I was hoping to replace with this oral B) that they reach for instead. They plea for me not to use this oral B kids brush. I’m not sure if they will get used to it eventually, but I feel like this brush is torture for them. I don’t want to give my child any weird complexes over teeth brushing. In my opinion yes it is too loud, the gentle mode is fairly strong/loud. The first time I turned it on I was a little surprised by the noise. But I thought maybe it meant a good cleaning. Cons The build quality is not great Too loud My child hates it (torturous?) Pros A nice size Seems to clean well Ease of use: it’s not tricky to use but it your kid refuses it, because it’s too loud then it’s not usable Quality: mediocre - cheaply made. Two modes = strong and extreme Value: if you don’t care about how loud it is and don’t need a gentle cleaning mode then it’s decent otherwise I do not recommend
