Q: Can regular coffee filters be used .
A: You do NOT need to use a filter. Make sure the basket is soaking wet, then add any ground of coffe. I have never had any grounds in my coffee in all my years of using this or the stove top percolator.

Q: Where is the BPA and styrene located? Interior or exterior?
A: I contacted Spectrum Brands and the bottom of the pot that heats up the coffee is where BPA and styrene are located. This does not come in contact with the coffee. Their phone# 800/231-9786.

Q: If I would buy a 12 cup percolator, could I still make a 4 cup coffee in it?
A: Yes, I had a 12 cup percolator and made 4- 6 oz cups (24 oz total) in it, but I don't recommend you go less than that.
