    They changed the formula!!! :-(

    This used to have salicylic acid in it which is good for keeping your scalp healthy and clean. I bought a new bottle on May 30, 2026 and sadly it now uses pyrithione zinc. The E.U. prohibits the use of pyrithion zinc in beauty products because it is a reproductive toxin (yikes!). I will no longer be buying this product.

    Ingredient change!

    I loved this shampoo and then the ingredients changed (very recently) OR a HUGE batch of conditioner was mislabeled as shampoo. I’m super bummed out by this because it’s actually helped my scalp and now I have to find something else.

    Holy grail dandruff shampoo

From the first wash I could feel the difference, my scalp felt clean without being stripped and the itched/ flaking started calming down immediately.     I have used this product for two years and am very disappointed by the misleading description. The listing states it contains salicylic acid, however the formula has changed and it has been replaced with pyrithione instead. I will be returning the bottle I just purchased due to this inaccuracy.

    Formula changed

    I used to use this product as a clarifying shampoo because I’m allergic to sulphates. The formula has been changed and now there are two ingredients I’m allergic to. Such a shame, this shampoo used to be my favorite.

    Too heavy for fine hair.

    I wanted to like this shampoo, but it was too heavy for my fine, thin hair. It left a waxy coating that made my hair feel weighed down instead of clean. I’ve had a similar experience with other SheaMoisture shampoos and conditioners—they tend to be too rich for my hair type. The scent isn’t strong, but it does remind me a little of Play-Doh. It may work better for someone with thicker or coarser hair, but for fine hair the shea-based formula felt too heavy for me.

    This is a no/never for me

    Nice but striping

    Great for itchy scalp
